Well this is what we got.
Gabe Speier!!! What a beast! That's my CLOSER right there. Look at that swag!! 😍
Those two Ks of Alvarez were massively impressive. Could have used him in the playoffs in Houston last year vs. YA.

Absolutely loved how with an 0-2 count he went right after Diaz with a perfect pitch instead of the typical waste pitch on 0-2 and punched him out on 3 pitches. Mano v. Mano Closer mentality right there baby.
Seriously had flashes of Sewald. Not because of the stuff, but like you said, mentality. That's exactly what we need to finish off games. Not saying Speier will or should be the closer, but he showed that he can be fearless when the moment is at its greatest.

:!: :!: :!: Because I can only watch about a third of games and usually not the end of them I have barely seen him pitch. Was great to finally see him in a key spot.

From what I've seen of Speier, Topa, and Gott, I give Dipoto full credit for finding these scrubs for basically nothing. How many times have we seen no names like Steckenrider, Chargois, Saucedo, Colome, Sewald, and many more basically just show up out of nowhere to close out heart pounding saves and games for us? Countless. Now, if only he could perform miracles like this with the offense. Since July 1st though, it feels like our lineup is beginning to turn the tide. And I don't think it has anything to do with Kelenic not being in the dugout. I think it might have something to do with the warmer weather. That's my theory anyways.

I think it has to do with Julio and France hitting better.

So they probably callup a reliever tomorrow.
Wittgren from KC was just acquired. Could go with Sweet or Ryder for Bazardo.
It's McCaughan.
