Clayton is defending Norton to the death saying he has had to be really creative to get pressure on the QB saying he has dialed up corner/safety blitzes like those are some brilliant epiphany that only he has come up with.Oso Dorado wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 2:36 amI seems like we have enough talent on defense, they just need to play better. Injuries and Reed’s suspension have slowed down the D meshing, but I expected more improvement by now.
I’m still expecting the D to improve, but I am not as optimistic as before.

They don't have enough talent on defense. The Dine is pathetic. Reed is not up to game speed yet and ither than that they have one D lineman (Clowney) . Ansah is a joke and Wright is a total liability now. Safety is better with Blair but makes rookie mistakes. Flowers got destroyed by Evans. Still like his potential though. Biggest issue us D lineOso Dorado wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 2:36 amI seems like we have enough talent on defense, they just need to play better. On this team? Yes, plenty of needs, and we used a first round pick on depth. Not sure why you take this so personal. The guy is not the right player for this team because they could have gotten a back later, or even a year later. Too many needs on this team to be able to have a first round pick stand on the sidelines.ThePro wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 1:22 amAnd that equates to him being a bust?Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 1:09 amI don’t think it is, not with a first round pick who plays a position of weakness for us. We have zero pass rush, and a guy playing DE taken in the first round can’t get on the field?
Penny is a bust too, but at no fault of his own. They just under value the guy they had. They could have gotten someone much later, or even just leaned on Davis and Prosise last year and used a later round pick on a backup this year.
Yes, hindsight is twenty twenty, but both are busts. We aren’t good enough to use first round picks for depth.
Hell, he has never made an impact in the return game. Just not a good use of a first rounder.

What about Poonah Ford? The local media had him going to the pro-bowl before the season even began.ThePro wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 2:53 amThey don't have enough talent on defense. Absolutely useless. Ok vs runs. Plays screens well. Everyone can't be a star. More of a Nose tackle..Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 4:09 amWhat about Poonah Ford? in hindsight it been nice if they had drafted someone else, but that is based on getting great production out of Carson. Drafts are not perfect in their efficiency, I will happily take that over the situation with their Dline. Collier is not yet a bust but he is proving disappointing.

So, he may never play, but it was a great pick? Read what I typed again. It was a bust for this team to pick him. I get that you feel the coaches have it it for him, but one of those coaches is also greatly involved in front office moves. He drafted him, and doesn’t use him.ThePro wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 6:08 amNothing you said makes him a bust.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 3:54 am

He has time. He's just behind a good player. I never said the coaches have it for him. You can question the pick Which is also bullshit . Hindsight is always 20/20. A bust is someone who sucks. I know you would love to say he is terrible but you can't make that argument anymore so now he is a bust because they don't play him. There is mo urgency to play him. If Carson keeps dumping that ball on the turf it will happen sooner than later.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 6:45 am

Truthfully, the organization hasn't been too good at drafting in the higher rounds. Now, mid-round picks have been pretty successful----overall.
