Why hate on it, was thinking about the talk earlier of releasing Adams. Think they have the makings of a nice combination. Harkening back to the good old days

it's kinda shocking how good Witherspoon has been in the slot, considering he never played there before. It fits his style perfectly, but a new position is always tough to adjust to.

People were saying he was small and slow, and he has looked neither. He looks strong and solidly built, and looks like a freaking rocket out there. Goes to show you can't always trust the combine numbers.

Was a good point about him and Adams. If they line up on opposite sides, either one could rush the QB, and you wouldn't know which, and thus wouldn't know the hot route. Huge problem for QBs and OCs.

I was saying the same thing in a post back on 9/1. Spoon played a lot of snaps inside the hash at CB while at Illinois, this is why I assumed he would see plenty of snaps in the nickle slot in the NFL, especially since we appeared talent-rich at DB at the time.

I think once Witherspoon and Adams take to the field you might not see much difference between the two responsibilities of the the two players when Adams plays in the box. I'm willing to bet that since both shine at playing downhill we will see Pete using the combo in blitz schemes where one drops into a short zone while the other rushes a gap, or both drop into coverage, or both blitz the gaps. This will give opposing QBs nightmares, so I suppose it could be called the Nightmare Nickel. It will be very interesting to see if this is how they will be used.
