Was it impressive to have both Teo and France in the lineup. That is what it would be like.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:49 pmBoth Gurriel and Solar? That to me be pretty impressive actually.

I assumed about equal but there were 77 RH 40 LH and 16 SH out of the 133 Qualified hitters.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:50 pmAre there far more right handed bats?ddraig wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:47 pmWhy would the M's want to be able to "handle" lefties on the mound more than righties considering there are more of the latter than the former? Oh wait. There are far more right-handed bats and thus they are cheaper. THAT is likely the impetus behind Dipshito's, and ownership's, thinking.

I'm guessing a version of the flu. My buddies daughter threw up all over her desk in the middle of class. But it's spreading like wildfire. Sounds like only a 24 hour thing though. We've been short staffed all week long due to sick people too.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 4:01 pmWhat is the virus??Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:52 pmIt's going around big time. That's what I assumed, here it says 25%, this has got to be one of the stupidest articles I've ran across for awhile. It goes on about the advantages of being left handed playing baseball. Hello, batting left handed does not make you left handed. That an article this stupid is on the internet shows how unreliable it isD-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:57 pmI assumed about equal but there were 77 RH 40 LH and 16 SH out of the 133 Qualified hitters.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:50 pmAre there far more right handed bats?ddraig wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:47 pm

"Q:When are diamonds a left-hander's best friend? A: When they're baseball diamonds, says Washington University in St. Louis engineering professor David Peters.
"Just look at the numbers. While only 10 percent of the population is left-handed, 25 percent of major leaguers are. Of the 61 pitchers enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame, 13 are left-handed, or 21 percent, more than twice that in the general population. It's even more striking for position players:
Makes me want to beat my head against the wall. Maybe because I'm actually left handed but was taught as a kid to bat right handed it irks me so badly, me and Ricky HendersonSo in theory, should a right handed pitchers and right handed hitters be judged differently within baseball circles because they are born with the "disadvantage" of being right handed?
There's some food for thought.

Ha and even White. How did you hit RH. If I tried to hit LH my BA would be .000. Can't even blow my nose LH. Oddly I am left footed though.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 4:21 pmThat's what I assumed, here it says 25%, this has got to be one of the stupidest articles I've ran across for awhile. I didn't try, I was never much of a ballplayer, I assume my brother got me hitting wrong sided. My right handed friend could hit left handed, he'd sucker opponents by saying he'd be willing to hit left handed. Funny as an adult he'd have no sympathy for a switch hitter going into a slump from one side of the plate. For me I could see it as two different strokes. It also fascinates me the Ricky hit at a disadvantage.

Even crazier Hank Aaron hit cross handed as a yout. How did he not notice everyone else doing the opposite???Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 4:48 pmI didn't try, I was never much of a ballplayer, I assume my brother got me hitting wrong sided.
