So he should be able to do it every game then i guess.
Think about it like a baseball player that hits 30-40 hrs a season hitting 3 in a game.
Doesn't the pitcher(s) he faced in that game have something to do with that?
Yes but if he faces and even worse pitcher the next game it does mean he will hit 4 or even 3 again or even 2 or 1. Football is a bit different given it is more driven by effort but I think the analogy still holds.

It seems that you and others here believe he can just go out there and do that whenever he wants to because it was all about effort and will-power or some defensive scheme that couldn't be implemented until Diggs was on the roster. I think there may have been more to it than that.
No one said anything close to that. We didn’t allow you to discredit the effort because two STARTING Tackles played in the game for the niners. Enormous Strawman. Find where I said ten pressures a game is what he can do anytime.

The Niners, and you, get to blame not only players that are hurt, but the players who are no longer hurt? How convenient.

Yeah, football is less chance driven, but i agree there are intangibles and elements of chance that come into play. The thing i don't get is that you guys all seem to be taking the position that sub-par blocking played no role at all in Clowney getting so much pressure on Garapalo. My view is that Staley, though, healthy, was not up to game speed and that resulted in the overall pass blocking being worse than what Clowney had faced in prior games this season. I wouldn't say it was a huge factor though.

Fair enough. We will know more after the game in Philly next Sunday.

That's not a strawman. That is an attempt at civil debate in which i clearly expressed my opinion as conjecture, prefaced by "it seems".

On the other hand, you state things like that i am trying to discredit Clowney's effort or make excuses for other players as if it was fact. Those are strawmen.

So, you mentioning that two starters returning to the O Line might have some how hindered the 49ers offense...was in no way trying to discredit what the defense, and specifically Clowney, did? How do you figure that?

Quandre Diggs effect?

That faith in Diggs allowed Seattle to play more single-high rather than playing predominantly two-deep as the defense had been prior to Diggs' entering the lineup.

“I think there was an impact,” Pete Carroll said. “I thought both the safeties played really well. … I think the settling presence of a veteran and also, he’s a hitter. He’s a real hitter and he goes for it. He had a couple big shots. Had a big shot in the toss. Had a couple shots on receivers that I think had a factor later on in the game.”

“I thought the safety play was the best we’ve seen it this year,” Carroll said of Diggs and McDougald. “I thought that was the best game that our safeties have played. I’m hoping that we can continue to grow and get better and feed off it. It’s an early assessment because Q’s just played one game. He can do a lot of things, so we’ll be anxious to figure out how he can complement what we’re doing and utilize him now that he’s crossed the threshold of playing time for us.”
there was some grumbling about trading for him injured but its looking like a pretty good move, get a starter like that for a 5th rounder. Man, what a difference a weeks makes. Read some talking head it seemed saying there wasn't much hope of this defense getting any better at this point, that might have been a little premature. Maybe Pete and John figured it out, went and got the guy they needed. Its interesting to me, in the past it was always the offense he needed to figure out. He was the defensive guru, the defense was a piece of cake. So now its the defense that is the issue, lets see if Pete gets it figured out. I like the odds of that more than going into the second half of a season with a struggling offense
