It seems clear now that trading for Williams was a mistake and shows that Carroll and/or Schneider failed to accurately assess where the team was and hence jumped the gun by "going for it" when they were nowhere near to being a contender. Now they will have to pay him and make due with fewer draft picks when they still have several positions to upgrade. Totally botched assessment.

So who would you like to replace Pete?
Ben Johnson, and Jim Harbaugh immediately come to mind.
If harbaugh goes to the pros he'll likely go to a team with a franchise QB - like the Chargers. Seattle is in a bit of purgatory right now until they draft a QB.
Maybe he will follow McCarthy here. lol

That doozy on Sunday took the cake. PC throws away a timeout with possibly his most asinine challenge ever, and then onside kicks with 2:01 remaining and takes a timeout off the board that they would have had if Myers kicks the ball out of the end zone. Did he REALLY not know this before he elected to onside kick?

Good point.

Seattle traded for Williams after Nwuso, arguably Seattle's best defensive player, went down. Williams is a baller. Now imagine Williams next to Carter. The trade was not the mistake, the mistake was not bolstering the front 7 more aptly because of fear carter 'might make a mistake'. People love to complain about trades - how about if Seattle just never tries anything at all? Y'all be whining about that. You take chances - or you don't. The Williams trade is NOT a bust. That's utterly absurd. The defense is better with him. With Carter and Nwosu they'd be very very formidable up front. How is upgrading a position of dire need 'a botched assignment"? That makes no sense at all, it's complaining for the sake of complaining.
Let's play a game where we only talk about moves that didn't pan out, ignore everything that has, so we can paint everyone as a failure! Jesus Christ it gets old.

It is time for Pete to go - I think he knows it and I think he steps down at the end of this season. The team isnlt that far off from being competitive, I think they need one more solid draft and for the love of God I hope they focus on the front 7 because this defense is an absolute embarrassment. The two things that inevitably send shivers down Seahawk fans spines every single game:

"Seattle has a third and short!"
"3rd and long for the opposing team!"

I am mostly pissed for Geno - he's the one dude I wanted to see shine more than anyone else and I think he's doing a good job mostly - the coaching staff has completely let him down IMO.

Never seen a team lacking the fundamentals of tackling like the 2023 Seahawks, a defense so consistantly out of position, a defense that gives up third and long so consistantly. it's like every down is an opportunity to "do the opposite of the right thing". It is utterly embarrassing anyone on that side of the ball is cashing their paychecks at this point - inclusind the coaches - who have clearly lost this team completely.
Well stated. But in addition to Geno, the coaching staff has let this entire team down.

Question... is Smith hurt? He took off running a couple of times and appeared okay, but I wonder if there's more to it.

When you trade significant draft capital for a rental, it should be the final piece that puts a defense over the top to make a serious SB run not wind up being a piece of duct tape to try to keep the titanic from sinking which did nothing from keeping Sunday's ridiculous performance look like a bad Cartoon. You know what I think gets old, is you coming here with your drive by bitch fits every time you read something you disagree with. You are literally the only one that does it.

Reminds me of the old Sesame Street bit. Which one doesn't belong. Guess which one you are. lol

Why is the only white kid upside down? Isn't that an example of subliminal racism?
