Christine Michael - he is the poster boy for drafting someone on potential rather than what they've proven on the field. They could have done better signing a UDFA.
Paul Richardson - a very good college WR but a bit of a reach given his small frame which should have brought up durability concerns
Frank Clark - 1st round talent that dropped due to DV allegation.
Malik McDowell - 1st round talent who dropped due to red flags

then there's Jarran Reed - 2nd rounder who is outperforming his #38-50 range status.

Yeah, it's the 1st overall pick that they seem to have trouble with.

I don't buy that a first round pick is required to be a impact player their rookie season, I mean its great if it happens but I doubt the rate is really that high. Players are drafted for their athletic ability but its hit or miss if they are ready to play in the NFL out of the gate. Wyman has talked about it repeatedly, how he wasn't lost his first season in the NFL. That may or may not be the issue with Collier, but I doubt PCJS are really crushed by it, sure they love for him to contribute more, but on the other hand, I think they have shown patience in bringing a player along, it is a four year rookie contract

Being that they are stuck picking from the bottom of the first round and into the second, seems their success rate isn't that far off of what might be expected

Right or wrong it seems that some fans (most?) want a 1st rounder to not only contribute right away but be a star. Those are unrealistic expectations IMO

I would take contribute at this point. Haven't had that since the great Ifedi started at Guard as a rookie back when Obama was still President.

JS went into the draft with four picks and came out of it with eleven. He went early on Collier lets say because he was perceived to be NFL ready, and Metcalf went late to us because he was perceived not to be, go figure. I just think its a crap shoot, things went pretty good...

I think that we will be seeing larger contributions from some of these guys in the next couple of years. Collier, idk, but Blair, Amadi, BBK, Barton, Haynes and Homer could show us more in the future.
It still appears to be a good draft to me, but (as always) it could be better.

Yep, an above average draft overall. That's why it is so maddening they always F up the first pick which is supposed to be the easiest.

larger role likely starts this week for Amadi seeing as Jamar Taylor just got released today. Blair was on track for that too before the trade for Quandry. i think with his playing style he was always gonna be less dependable - (whether from injury or suspension due to his physicality), so having 2 other regulars at Safety is a good thing. and Diggs can also play some nickel as i understand. Not sure KJ will be back next year, so Barton can get his chance either in his spot or if Kendricks actually goes to jail (very unlikely to me at this point). wont hold by breath for either Collier or BBK, but at least Ben gives you great SP play.

In the give credit where credit is due category we have a 6 game winning streak going in the 10am PT time slot. That is phenomenal for what used to be our kryptonite. I guess we leave Friday after practice for 10am games and it has worked like a charm. Good job PC on that.
