Fafita became the starter in week 5 against us. He started 8 games in the conference schedule and put up 2446 yards with 23 Td's and 5 Interceptions. Penix had 2263 yards 16 Tds and 6 interceptions in the final 8 games of the conference schedule. That is with 5 common opponents.

Don't forget Mercer. That has trap game written all over it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 6:26 pmMissouri, Tennessee were ranked teams, Georgia, Oklahoma, doesn't look like an easy schedule

Exactly. Will be interesting to see how much Alabama's recruiting suffers barely squeaking into the playoff in controversial fashion and then going from Saban to KDB who was unheard of 2 years ago and didn't recruit for shit.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 1:59 amI'm mostly excited about the recruiting aspect. DeBoer's lack of strong recruiting was puzzling to me. We just lost our third game in two years, and it was the National Championship. I'd like to believe that would have earned better classes than KDB was able to pull in.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 9:41 pmYep, could be a blessing in disguise. Fisch seems like more of an intellectual than DeBoer as well who always struck me as a bit of a rube. That is going to sound like sour grapes but always thought that. haCaptain 97 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 9:34 pmIf Fisch can get Fifita and a few of his cohorts to come over here, the Dawgs may actually be better next year than they would have been if DeBoer stayed. I would certainly rather have Fafita than Will Rogers.

As far as I recall, as long as they don't hire an agent they can pull out before the draft. But I could be wrong.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 4:29 amWhat are the rules on declaring for the draft? Can they change their mind. I am wondering if playing with his brother might be attractive for Jalen to give it another year. I am kind of thinking he shouldn't have declared. If he came back and put up a full healthy season of tape You would think he could improve his draft stock drastically. .57reasons wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 3:53 amYeah that receiver is J-Mac's brother Tetoira, who might actually be the better player between the two when all is said and done. better pro prospect as he is taller and excels at high-pointing the ball - big target with decent speed, a poor-man's Odunze. Be nice to get the halfback Coleman too, as rumored a possibility. He posted some pretty big numbers there, better than Johnson's this past year.

Yeah, I imagine around Thanksgiving was when KDB realized that despite the fact that he had beaten Lanning twice in two years? He was getting his ass handed to him on the recruiting trail. I am still dumbfounded when we struggle recruiting after success. Seems that we didn't exactly hit it out of the park after the Final 4 with CP either, or am I misremembering? Seems there was a lot of handwringing in here about OKGs, etc. Maybe it is just harder than we think to get kids to come here, but besides Nike, what is the draw to Oregon? All the uniforms?

Maybe living in a complete dump of a city doesn't appeal to many football recruits. I know i'd want to get away from it.

Arizona has hired Brent Brennan from San Jose State. Doesn't seem to me to be a guy that would move the needle much for the players. I'd imagine that we will probably see the potential transfer portal guys start to make their decisions soon.
