Stone on the Astros problems helping the M's

That is why it is silly to predict with 100% confidence that they would be better than us for the next five years. Its sports. Shit happens.

I’m more fascinated by what, if anything, Manfred could/would do as a punitive measure, if further evidence of tech-enabled sign stealing is revealed.

Forfeiture of draft picks? They already pick at the bottom.

Title censure/revocation ? NFW.

Refurbing the Astrodome and making the Astros play there a whole season ? 8-) That would be interesting, but would be just as plausible to rebuild Colts Stadium for the same purpose.

Firing the scouting/operations leadership and banishment from baseball ? Laughable.

A fine would also be laughable, but probably the most plausible choice.

This will be interesting to watch play out.

The will lose draft picks and international signing slot money. And it will be significant. Probably a fine as well but that will be least significant.

“Future violations of this type will be subject to more serious sanctions, including the possible loss of draft picks.”
When Manfred says that and you do it anyway, he seems under an obligation to make it significant

How about a Life time ban for Lunhow and Hinch for starters.

You thought the Braves got it rough? Oh its gonna be bad!! I mean REAL BAD!

I'm past the point where I find this amusing anymore. People are gonna lose jobs and that organization is gonna be crucified.

Seems to me that if MLB was seriously wanting to stop this (or any other) cheating behavior by teams, they just need to make offending teams ineligible for the postseason for a year. Of course, in the M's case, it really wouldn't be much of a consequence

The M's already have a self-imposed no postseason ban.

Maybe we should get caught cheating and they would punish us by forcing us to play in the post season.
