Roster Churn

Post by 57reasons » Sun Jan 21, 2024 6:23 pm

Ok, after all the recent hits, finally some good news - Jonah Coleman RB - over 5 ypc AFTER contact!

Next to swim upstream in the Fisch pipeline hopefully will be Fifita QB, McMillan WR, and one or more of the lengthy CBs Prysock and Davis, as well as their 2024 4-star QB recruit Demond Williams. Also wonder if LB Daniel Heimuli might transfer back? Got buried on the depth chart here, not sure why else he left, but could definitely use the likes of him or former 5 star Justin Flowe.

And just maybe a new influx of talent stops the panic in our own guys who've entered portal, particularly Kalepo and the Hatchett brothers on the OL. that would be key given the loss of so many others - Brailsford to Bama, Fautanu and perhaps Rosengarten to the draft. Or for that matter, might help convince Rosie to sign on for another season and improve his draft status.

Yes, good for them. Hopefully some of our guys realize that is the way to go as well.

Isn’t there another Hatchet that played O Line? His brother?

Yes.
OL Drew Azzopardi

The coaching change effectively wrecked Washington’s offensive line. Starting center Parker Brailsford transferred to Alabama. Starting guards Nate Kalepo and Julius Buelow transferred to Mississippi. Geirean Hatchett, a versatile guard who projected as a near-certain starter in 2024, announced that he will not return to Washington, either. The Huskies are still waiting on a decision from Hatchett’s younger brother, Landen, a sophomore who entered the portal but has not yet announced a destination. Add to that the NFL Draft entry of starting tackles Troy Fautanu and Roger Rosengarten, and the Huskies are starting from scratch up front.
