Did anybody ever hear of any of the guys on the team saying anything on social media when he was traded?

We joked about it a little but, but I really didn't even see any "good luck in Atlanta" posts or anything.

Which doesn't mean too much. I think it was Vogelbomb who pointed out they don't always post on social media, but I just thought it was a little odd that nobody said anything at all about him departing.

Unless I just didn't see it. Anybody else see anything online from the Mariners players about his departure?
You may want to check to see if anyone posted anything to Kelenic's mom. After all, she's the one who posted thank yous to the Mariners on social media on JK's behalf.

Honestly, I run Kelenic down all the time - not because he's a crappy player, but because he seems to be a crappy human being. To me, he reminds me of the Gen Zers who bring their parents to a job interview. Seriously. It's a thing:

And because mom wasn't in the dugout when he pitched his hissy fit, his churlish behavior put him on the IL which impacted the team. I will stop disparaging the guy now. But the answer to your question, bpj, is "I don't know because I have zero social media presence, but it wouldn't surprise me if no one posted anything to him given that he shit in the nest on the way out".

Maybe they sent him personal text messages.

Lol, good stuff about Mama Kelenic 😆

Yeah, the text messages are possible, but I posted a few "Good luck" type posts from players when guys like Graveman and Sewald were traded.

Just didn't see anything similar regarding Kelenic and curious if anyone saw anything

I would've forgotten all about him if it wasn't advertised here. :D

He was a complete disappointment as a mariner far too self absorbed and already a legend in his own mind. I wish him the same karma that seemed to follow him around. Pissed that he didn’t get to the show when he thought he was ready. The only memorable moment as a mariner was starring in a cartoon with a fat fan

Broke my heart to hear him say this. I was the BIGGEST JK supporter. You know what they say, never meet your heroes. Such a disappointment.

Jarred Kelenic comes off as a lefthand-hitting Tyler O'Neill, another young buff outfielder the Seattle Mariners traded away.

Kelenic made his MLB debut as a top prospect when he was exactly one year younger than O'Neill was when the latter made his MLB debut as a top prospect.

Braves fans hope Kelenic hits O'Neill's ceiling of 6.1 bWAR in 2021 but the more realistic projection might be closer to the average annual 0.8 bWAR O'Neill has posted over five other partial seasons.
