Yeah. The stars aligned for us. The M’s adjusted and got to Yamamoto the second time through the order. Our bullpen kept us in the game. Mitch robbed Ohtani. The dodgers were bad with RiSP. The M’s played good small ball. All the stuff I hope happens during the regular season.

But did you actually watch the game? Did you see Yammie strike out the side in first? Did you see his off speed pitches and his fastball sitting at 96 mph? The dude is going to be good. Really good. And I’m sorry we weren’t ever contenders for his services.

12 years is an eternity for a pitcher. So the question will be whether he ages like Verlander or whether he ages like Felix Hernandez. That should tell you if he’s worth the contract he got. The dodgers built in opt outs around the health of his elbow, and there aren’t no-trade clauses, so it’s likely he won’t be with the dodgers for 12 years anyhow.

But yeah, he looks as good as advertised. Filthy.
