Where did you get Raley is owed millions? He's pre arbitration, paying him like $700,000l, that's how I read it.

Trammel and Raley are pretty equal in that respect, trammel makes $500.000, both are FAs in 2029

I am predicting Cazone as the OD starter in LF.

Murphy + Geno + Ford = $17M

Garver + Urias + Seby =$20M

that's where they went wrong.

MLB doesn't seem to have the confidence in Ford as you guys. I think Garver would be considered the better hitter.

Hope that holds true. Ford raked this spring and the big head scratcher has got to be Murphey

It's the combination of the three and the fact Garver makes the other Mitch seem like Cal Ripken Jr. and Lou Gehrig's love child.

Murphy could have decided to move on, I could see that. Look for a wider open catching opportunity. The mariners did indicate they wanted to keep him

On not trading him, not trading him would seem to indicate they wanted to extend him
“Mostly because I think Scott would have had a heart attack if we would have traded Murph,” general manager Jerry Dipoto said. “It's a true story. Murph, as much as any player we have, believes in what we do. He believes in our systems. He is the courier of information in and out with our pitching staff. He knows every one of those guys inside and out.”
A contract extension
“We do plan on doing that,” Dipoto said. “And frankly, we considered doing it this week, but we thought it would be bad form. So it is something we would like to work out with Murph. But we'll address that with he and his agent and see where it goes.”

And $4M was just way too much to pay for 1.2 WAR in 159 PAs because if they had done that they would be "Lousy" for the rest of the decade.

Good question, I don't know why I thought he was owed 4 or 5 mil this season.

Guess the only problem with Raley is he has no options and they'll cut Trammell in favor of Raley, even though he's a 30 year old with a good month or two under his belt.
