I totally get the skepticism especially since he sucked most of ST but TT has never come close to this in almost a half of a season.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 1:32 pmGood question, I don't know why I thought he was owed 4 or 5 mil this season.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 11:52 amWhere did you get Raley is owed millions? He's pre arbitration, paying him like $700,000l, that's how I read it.
Trammel and Raley are pretty equal in that respect, trammel makes $500.000, both are FAs in 2029
Guess the only problem with Raley is he has no options and they'll cut Trammell in favor of Raley, even though he's a 30 year old with a good month or two under his belt.

Re: Final dress rehearsal GT
Raley had been heating up quite a bit actually. I don't think his cold streak would even be part of the equation at this point. You saw the Times article?
If spring training stats are meaningless then early spring training stats are even more so“His timing is getting better with its consistency,” Servais said. “There is still going to be little bit of swinging and missing in his game, but he’s turned it on here the last four or five games.”
Having quality at-bats and getting results going into spring training makes it easier to forget the earlier struggles.
“There’s no better time to do it than right now when the season is about to get going,” Raley said.

Yeah agree but given his competition is Canzone who I think the love even more for the reasons you have documented I think he gets the OD nod.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 2:04 pmRaley had been heating up quite a bit actually. The difference to me is the Mariners are choosing the 29 year old over the 26 year old.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 1:45 pmI totally get the skepticism especially since he sucked most of ST but TT has never come close to this in almost a half of a season.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 1:32 pmGood question, I don't know why I thought he was owed 4 or 5 mil this season.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 11:52 amWhere did you get Raley is owed millions? When Raley was 26 and 27 his wRC+ was 47 then 79.
Trammell is just entering his age 26 season and he has an 83 career wRC+.
I just think it's a shame to lose Trammell to keep Raley, two third basemen, and a third catcher on the roster.

Yeah I would take TT over Seby all day long and have Mitch catch once a week.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 3:54 pmThe difference to me is the Mariners are choosing the 29 year old over the 26 year old.
