No ROOT Sports this year
Thanks again Comcast -- and the cable and streaming powers that exist only to steal from me and others like me.
How do you guys watch the M's in your neighborhood? I'm thinking of getting the MLB package, it's like 10X's cheaper than what Comcast wants to Prison Bubba me for this year.

You are screwed. I get every game with the MLB package but you are in the Root coverage area so all games will be blacked out.maoling wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 2:58 amThanks again Comcast -- and the cable and streaming powers that exist only to steal from me and others like me.

Did that last year , MLB package was free from T-Mobile which is available this year before April 2 for free gain. VPN cost $4 a month and worked well for me

So do you need to tell the VPN you are in another part of the country?desbcoach wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 2:49 pmDid that last year , MLB package was free from T-Mobile which is available this year before April 2 for free gain. VPN cost $4 a month and worked well for me

Re: No ROOT Sports this year
Why is it so hard for these broadcast companies to work out a deal with whatever team they cover to offer games on an individual basis through a streaming service? It would allow them to adjust to market factors on a day by day basis instead of locking people (including themselves) into monthly or season-long deals. I would think they would get a lot more viewers and money because people that only watch occasionally would join the revenue stream.
Re: No ROOT Sports this year
It's almost $1000 a year to add ROOT, which has always been included in my Comcast package. I'm not getting hosed like that from those pricks. I'll check T-Mobile or listen on the radio. I liked doing that when I was a kid.

Like other posters above there are ways around the issues.
Also now Apple TV (and others?) does VPN apps so you don’t always have to watch on a computer. Just need a compatible provider if you’re trying what others have suggested.

How does the VPN thing work? Sorry, tech illiterate.
