He'd be smart to not sign (or if he asks, demand a trade)Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 4:09 amKirby doesn't yet have the maturity and composure to deal with having little to no run support. He needs to have a long talk with Felix because this is probably how it's going to be all year and perhaps the remainder of his career as a Mariner.

He's given up 13 runs in the first four innings of his last two starts. I don't see where run support enters into it. He needs to pitch better

Right!? Jesus, let's hope Kirby doesn't feel like a victim, because giving up a lot of early runs sure makes it hard to win!Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 5:05 amHe's given up 13 runs in the first four innings of his last two starts. In his previous start it was the shitty D in the first inning that got to him. Yesterday, though, it had to be disheartening to see his team get no-hit through 4 innings.

he gave up three runs in the third. So they need to get a hit by the third inning or Kirby falls apart. Okay

I was responding to what Michael said, Kirby hasn't complained about a lack of run support, though he did complain about not getting pulled last season which is a bit of the victim isn't it
let's hope Kirby doesn't feel like a victim
Re: David Gee Snoozes and Loses but M's Win GT
Yeah that was really weird and he got a lot of back lash for it even from former MLB pitchers....but it blew over when he kicked ass for the rest of the season. That's kind of how that stuff plays out isn't it. If he had sucked he would have been reminded of it constantly.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 1:17 pmI was responding to what Michael said, Kirby hasn't complained about a lack of run support, though he did complain about not getting pulled last season which is a bit of the victim isn't it

Think we are getting side tracked. The issue was Sibelius Hindemith making excuses, that is a lack of run support could be impacting his ability to focus. I don't think Kirby has given run support a chance, he's messed up too early. Kirby isn't part of the discussion. I thought it was funny Michael terming it as victim, but Kirby hasn't done it. But I did point out he did last season.
