Hancock for the Sweep gamethread 5-1
Re: Hancock for the Sweep gamethread 5-1
It's been a while since anyone scored this much against the Mariners and it was mostly because of poor fielding, not pitching.

Think it would take us until Sunday afternoon to claw back 5 runs.

Yep - we need to get a proper DH and a solid RF. But we're stuck with Raley, Garver and Haniger.
Que sera sera.
I'm still gonna hold onto the fact that we took 2 of 3 from these bastards. They are a gritty team. Hancock held in there as long as he could - I don't think we ever stood a chance against a team that is this good that was held to 3 runs in 2 games - and against Sale as a starter considering how impotent and ineffectual our offense is. They were bound to break out eventually, and against our #5 guy is OK. -ish.

Their RF catches that. Probably every other RF in MLB catches that. Haniger was terrible two seasons ago too, why we literally painted ourselves into a corner with him is baffling...and now he's not hitting either.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 8:46 pmThat ball was hit well. I don't blame Mitch for that.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 8:44 pmHaniger is single-handedly winning this game for the Braves.
2 out of 3 ain't bad against this club. And this creates no controversy for when Woo is ready to be back. In fact it let's us know that we have a young developing arm that is ready to step in should anyone else go down.

Agreed, this was the classic punt/courtesy win game today. I'd like to see our manager and players even say so in the post-game interviews just to embarrass the Braves.Big_Maple wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 8:53 pmYep - we need to get a proper DH and a solid RF. If D-Mo wasn't out in front of that pitch, it would have been second deck.

The M's sure love to get all the offense going when there's 2 outs... I wonder what team BA is 0 outs in an inning. Probably low as hell.
