Best of all we get a split at a minimum with a chance at a series win. No one predicted that (edit no one predicted a series win in ny)3 of 4 maybe more out Baltimore and Skankees is a good thing and I want more

Well we are only playing 7 games so 3-5 will be hard so maybe you meant 3-4 and I said same it would be a fair measurement of team was my statement

Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!
Even a 4-3 on this trip would be really nice.

I say, let’s not be too self deprecating.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 5:17 amMariners win! We're HEROES!!!

Yeah, they’re the Skankees, and yeah they’ve got a monster lineup.
Buuuut - we’ve taken 2 from a great team, and everyone thought we would just be the fluffers.
Everyone said our top of the ninth comeback was a fluke. Blind squirrels finding a nut, and all that.
Everyone knows that the Skanks have some of most fearsome hitters in baseball - Judge, Soto and Stanton have 3 of the top 4 exit velocities in baseball (number 2 is Ohtani).
The way I see it is the top of the ninth win might have been the shot in the arm the M’s needed to inspire the bats to heat up. I think we are turning a corner, here. Our starting rotation continues to be among the best in baseball, stymying some of the best hitters in the game. Our bullpen is holding its own.
And, importantly we are doing this more or less without JRod. He’s not getting on base, or stealing bases, or hitting home runs. His OPS so far is a tepid .652 At some point, he will heat up. But so far, he has not looked like the highest paid, de facto leader of the team. And yet we take 2 from the Yankees - the first time they have lost 2 in a row at home in forever.
So yeah. Right now, I’m a glass half full guy. If we took this series, I’d be a glass overflowing guy. But I’ve like what I’ve seen the last 2 games, I like.

That was a great win. Woo with his 3 starts of 0.57 ERA ball is a welcome boost.
