I think MLB was too cheap to stop using their stockpiles of baseballs and now they ran out of all the previous balls and this season is 100% with the new ball they switched to, which is a mushball.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 5:51 amWhy is hitting down in general this year? I can't say it is 100% BS, but: If they say they are trading anyone and everyone the I could see them losing leverage.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 11:37 pmhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GImXttBWXKA
Per this guy....Doesn't sound like Toronto wants to trade any big bats of significance even if they're sellers.
It could be true. They could be like we invested huge dollars in the SPs: Bassit, Berrios, Gausmann, S
They could be wanting to make one last run. They went after Ohtani. Maybe they think they can add a SP, a BP guy or 2 and the best position player available Soto.
I might work out. The Yanks have a MVP type in Judge, a CY type, and another MVP type and not much else on the position player side. And they are doing OK.
But if I am the GM sitting at 8 games under .500 last place in the division and with 8 teams ahead of me for the WC spots I am probably wanting to tank, get a top 5 or 10 pick in all the rounds and a few top 100 prospects
Re: Potential trade targets from potential sellers and their numbers since 6/1
And Brent Rooker 157 OPS+, Isaac Paredes. Tank O., and Lamont Wade Jr. Matt Chapmann Brandon Lowe 132 OPS+ 2.5 years about 1MM per with cheap buyoutsInjuries and 2 years of low haha lerformanceSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 5:43 pmKetel Marte: .324/.419/.574/.993 1.8 fWAR Hard to see them selling

Re: Potential trade targets from potential sellers and their numbers since 6/1
I’d be happy with Rooker, but I’m still leaning into a Jazz trade.
Here’s a trade proposal - OF/2B Jazz Chisholm Jr. for
OF Lazaro Montes and RHP Michael Morales.
I don’t have access to MLB trade calculator anymore so I can’t say for sure, but it doesn’t seem like an overpay.

If so, can we meet up and I exchange 1.00 dollars and you give me 1.20$ dollars and you thank me for doing you the favor?

F that. You are trading a guy with a potential 160-180 OPS+ bat for a 103 OPS bat??? Jazz is the most overrated player in MLB imo.Big_Maple wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 3:34 pmI’d be happy with Rooker, but I’m still leaning into a Jazz trade.

My IPad is annoying me. It automatically decides to take me to the log-in screen and deletes the post I was trying to make because I am switching screens out to look stuff up.
I had worked up a post that was in reply to DT’s comment about Jazz. It is a controversial subject for me. Jazz’s rate stats shows he is a producer in that up the middle position SS/2B/CF all but catcher. He rates out to 27HR/32SB per 162 average but only has a career 102 OPS+. He is kinda the opposite of another trade target (Wade Lamont Jr. He has a 151 OPS+ based on his .439 OBP, he would be a great passive addition to the line-up meaning he turns the line-up over and gives everybody in the line-up more chances to contribute and he is on base when they do. But, he doesn’t do the pushing himself only 3HR and 19 RBI in 62 games.) If we got Jazz for 2nd base and Rooker for the outfield I would think we were better for it.
But thinking out of the box a little it would be a better option if we got Wade and Brent. Hit Wade at 1B mostly and move France to 2B. Now that Julio has woke up and Cal is on fire. I mean could you imagine kicking out Polanco and Hanniger in favor of two bats in the 150’s?
Brent Rooker is my top target.
And then
assuming we get him
Either Lamont Jr., or Brandon Lowe
Make it so #1!

Something nobody is talking about...
Rooker played 1st base in college and also did so through the minors. He played some 1B in 2020 with the Twins.
He's not woefully unathletic. I'd trade for Rooker and stick him at 1st.
Only reason the A's probably don't do it is because they've have like a million 1B/C/DH types in Noda, Soderstrom, Brown, Diaz, etc...
