Maybe I am just a Homer but I think there is zero chance that we finish behind Rutgers in the standings. I also feel like we are better than Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin but the gap there is a little closer.

With more than a dozen senior starters returning, a potentially elite defense, the Big Ten’s leading rusher, a new face at quarterback and a historically favorable schedule, there is reason to believe that Rutgers is on the brink of a special season
Guess Rutgers could have a pretty good season

All those seniors were playing last year when they won 3 conference games. They scored less than 14 points 5 times and that elite defense gave up 22 to an Iowa team that averaged 13 points a game in conference play.

Rutgers 2023 defense
They're eighth nationally in total defense, giving up 277.3 yards per game. They're fifth in passing yards allowed, 12th in scoring defense, surrendering 16 points per contest and boast what Pro Football Focus calls the best tackling unit in the nation.

And hopefully they are considered a pretty good team when the huskies beat them, there's not much to be gained from beating shitty teams

Way to grab a quote from some random article written after week 3 or something. They gave up 313 yards per game and allowed 21 points per game. They were 6th in the big 10 in yards per game allowed, they were 5th in the big 10 in passing yards allowed and 7th in scoring defense.

All anyone could talk about last year was how bad the Huskies defense was. They shut out Michigan State until a late touchdown against the backups in the 4th quarter. Rutgers vaunted defense had them trailing Michigan state 24-6 going into the 4th Quarter.

Okay, they are a shitty team, let's see if the huskies can beat them. They would have more to gain doing it if they weren't considered so shitty of course

Rutgers is considered the birthplace of college football
The first intercollegiate football game is played between Rutgers and Princeton on November 6, 1869, in a field on College Avenue.
They won the national championship that year, the only one they have ever won.
