Re: Another writer calling for Jerry's head
First of all Julio and Cal Gilbert and Kirby were not acquisitions they came up through the system. We are talking about trades and free agents here. Suarez was literally shipped off for peanuts because he couldn't make contact with a beachball using a tennis racket. Ty France was so bad he was literally cut for nothing. I don't know any rational mariners fans that considers those two moves on a whole as a success. Swanson and Sewald were shipped off for crap hitters so they really didn't help the end game of this roster construction at all. Hagerty is literally a nothing and not even good enough to stick on the roster. That leaves you a part time utility player and JP as "good moves". stack that up against the 40 bad moves that have already been abundantly pointed out to you and that puts him right about at 95% bad moves.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 11:16 pmI believe it was BPJ. And, I spotted the BS back then to. Can You? 2022 Saurez is not there. Why well it would have been 4 WAR and a 129 OPS+ that doesn't fit his, or your narrative of JD being a 95% fk up. That 2022 team had 90 wins. You know what else didn't fit the story:bhofferb wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 6:03 pmDon’t remember who originally posted this, but it clearly shows Jerry can’t pick winners. Not 1st of all, All in all. He added all of those guys via draft, develop, trade and sign. You shit heads cherry picked all of the losers via draft, develop, trade, and sign and went , "Look at this idiot he does nothing right!", I did the same thing and flipped the script, "Look at JD the genie, he pulls a rabbit out of his hat on all these moves". He claimed that this article proved how much of a disaster JD had been but instead it linked to a poll that showed most baseball fans considered the "whole" as favorable.
Talk about a prime example of "Bias confirmation".

It's no surprise that he gets a mid-grade when you don't factor in his free agent additions.
Using that poll to confirm your own bias is completely braindead reasoning.
Dipoto's a douchbag loser.

Re: Another writer calling for Jerry's head
How much does drafting even have to do with Jerry?
The M's have good talent evaluators for the draft... and Jerry takes what they say and goes with it.
His job, which is evaluating MLB talent, has been the debacle.

Re: Another writer calling for Jerry's head
Jerry inherited a team with a solid core of Seager, Cano, Cruz and Felix in era with the highest % of teams making the playoffs in MLB history and has made the playoffs 1 out of NINE seasons. A .111 Batting average. You have to be out of your fucking mind to grade that reign of dumbfuckery as a positive....2 playoff wins in almost a decade. They could have hired a monkey and done better and at least they monkey would have some integrity.

Re: Another writer calling for Jerry's head
They need to fix the stadium. There is no way to predict who is a winner once they bring them here
2024
Wins, Raley, Robles, Randy
Held serve JT, Rojas
Losses Mitch's Jorge
I think they have a "volume" strategy. Throw shit at the wall what doesn't stick replace: Like bringing up Ford, Jose, Marlowe from the farm to replace Wong, AJ, etc.
But again , fix the fucking batter's eye. Unbelievable that Boone had his complaints about it as did others from the freaking get. Fix the field!
