Even without Lucas and Fant there are 6 offensive linemen on the roster that can play OT. Cross, Forsythe, Curtis, Laumea, Jerrell, and Sundell. And still they need to sign Peters? Something doesn't add up.

Cross is the only good one

But why were they so scared of putting Jerrell and Laumea on the practice squad if they are even more scared at the prospect of playing them?

That is what they are. When you get to your 4th, 5th, 6th best tackle, you are talking about guys that may be in the XFL, Arena, Canadian football leagues. Peters may be old but he was once a great. I think he may be able to play well since he is rested and healthy.

That's ridiculous. They wouldn't be on the roster if they weren't NFL caliber. What i'm questioning is the decision to use roster spots on players that they apparently have no intention of putting on the field rather than putting them on the practice squad. They must really believe that guys like Jerrell and Laumea have massive developmental potential and losing them would be a severe blow to their future plans.

I don't understand what they're doing with Haynes either. You've had the worst guard play in the league, let him play.

Don’t you think that is a big objective of the practice squad? Guys you see a future for but might not be ready now? I don’t think it is always just a minor league system where you bring guys up when needed. Otherwise, why would guys like Kareem Hunt and Dalvin Cook get signed during or right before the season? Wouldn’t the team have just had a player ready on the practice squad already?

Well first, Sataoa Laumea is a guard. In terms of Jerrell, I don't see why bringing in additional depth means they are afraid to play him.

They haven't even signed him yet
Peters visited the team recently, and his potential signing may signal challenges for starting tackle Abe Lucas to return soon. With George Fant also injured and on IR, Peters could provide much-needed experience and depth to the offensive line. Analysts suggest the Seahawks could add Peters to the practice squad as an experienced presence. His familiarity with the team from last season positions him as a valuable asset for younger tackles.
I don't see the issue

So, if Laumea and Jerrell aren't ready why aren't they on the practice squad?

Pretty sure he played OT at Utah.
