I was just about to post a thread for that.
I'm OK bringing Turner back so long as they move Haniger. You can't waste too many roster spots.
Garver, what was your expectations with Mitch? Last year he had 50 RBI, this year 51. He has a 116 OPS+ career and an 85 this year.Hy Feiber wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 3:09 pmSuarez and Teo, who drove in 190 runs, that’s “under-performing?”Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:05 amRobles, Randy, and Rodriguez works
Raley works
Raleigh works
( That is a fine front 5 )
France going from looking like a batting champ to batting chump hurt the build in a huge way. As did all the under performing bats//// Saurez, Teo, Wong, Julio, JP, Jorge, Garver, Haniger.
That said the most important thing I read was being inventive to have Edgar back to make it work for the bat CZAR EdGar the bat Czar. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Saurez 129 OPS+ year 1
103 OPS+ year 2 That is what Rojas gave you in year 1
Teo 128 OPS+ the year before 136 OPS+ the year after (108 with us)
Julio has a 117 OPS+ but he is being counted on to be a super star: I am penciling him in for 100 to 110 runs and 100-110 RBI every year he came up with 76 snd 68 (-56) some of his runs would also be counted as RBI but even if you say 11 of those are the HR double up how many wins would Julio of added with an additional 45 runs scored make a difference?
You’re lumping them in with
Wong and Garvey?
That’s goofy.
Why don't you suggest who the Mariners should go get?AZOldDawg wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:14 pmSeeing will be believing. Still feels like spin to me. Jerry didn’t say anything about doing whatever it takes to bring in a top tier hitter. We don’t have a single player opponent’s are afraid to pitch to. Our best hitters still have big holes or get themselves out too often. The hope obviously is that we commit the resources to go from good to great which is doable. Personally I still think Jerry’s ego will cause him to pull the proverbial rabbit out of a hat without giving much up. Hop I am wrong.
I think there's a good chance the starting pitching will be better next year. Injuries are the big unknown.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 3:51 amSo we're all just assuming the starting pitching will be as good next year as it was this year? I just don't see that as very likely.
It sounds like you are in the same boat as I am. II don't think any of the big "difference makers" are available. (Rooker, Vlad, etc), and this sports head mantra that you want to hear from Dipota is grandiose but dumb.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:29 pmWhy don't you suggest who the Mariners should go get?AZOldDawg wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:14 pmSeeing will be believing. I don't know about the SPs being as healthy next year. But I expect the BP will be much healthier. Santos came back, Brash is expected back before the All-Star break. Troy T. Should be all year. Munoz, Snider, JT. That is 5 solid guys plus Brash coming back mid season.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:52 pmI think there's a good chance the starting pitching will be better next year. Can you please stop with that?Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 11:07 pmIt sounds like you are in the same boat as I am. II don't think any of the big "difference makers" are available. JD
"I am going to do whatever it takes to go get Brent Rooker!"
Billy Beane~ "OK, Robles, Raley, Woo, Lazaro, Troy Taylor, Sloan, Colt, Ford, and Kirby?"
JD~ Yes! I have full filled my oath to the fans, and have made the team better by adding that big bat!
Reality check! You can't bravado your way into forcing other GMs to give you their best players. This is not Madden legacy mode.
With the starting pitching, the four young guys are all at ages where they're still improving, though its possible Gilbert is peaking. But the streak of relative health the last few years could mean that TJ is hiding around the corner. So we'll see how that goes.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 11:31 pmI don't know about the SPs being as healthy next year. But I expect the BP will be much healthier.
