Re: 2024 Election
Of course he needed to come up with an explanation, he wanted to be a senator. So what's he do, blames the media, lol. They are the favorite whipping boy these days. If you want to buy that kind of BS fine by me. But if you want to complain about what's wrong with politics that's part of it there, changing positions for personal gain, nobody is held accountable anymore
Re: 2024 Election
I know that Vance said he learned more about Trump watching him be president, but ... did Vance *REALLY* blame his prior opposition to Trump on the media? That would seem pretty weak-minded. I mean, the guy was 3 years out of Yale law school, had been in the Marines, had practiced law, and was working as a venture capitalist for Peter Thiel. (And I think he had written his bestseller by then.) It seems like he would have had *some* ability to suss out the truth.Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 3:15 pmAnd he already explained that.....didn't he?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 3:12 pmDeep? Vance changed his position on Donald Trump, where's the hard part?Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 2:44 pmAA, I think your post was a little too deep for donn.
Trump was new and an unknown. Vance was new and believed Shillery's Press (not that he liked her). So he formed an opinion on things that were NOT TRUE.
It's amazing how you lib's can't get this through your heads and keep resorting back to it.
Dope.

Like you and donn have?
When all the media produces are:
Russia
Hookers
Likes to be pissed on
Corruption in the White House
Ukraine quid pro quo
Hillary denying the election.....Yeah, just like The Don, but not a peep out to the media on that.
All the law suites
Special investigations, just for The Don
And it wasn't just MSNBC. IT also included CNN, CBS, NBC, NPR, ABC & just about every other "news" outlet in existence with the exception of Fox.
The first 18 months of the Trump Presidency, he was fighting both parties. Finally when the Rep's got in line and realized that America liked this guy, they were voted out of the majority in the House, so the impeachments started.
Just imagine what can be done if the MSM reported the truth.
Just imagine what can be done without the identity politics.
Just imagine what can be done without the libs hatred of President Trump because he "crashed into politics"....and wasn't a politician.
Just imagine what can be if both sides worked together FOR AMERICANS.

For example, if someone thinks that what Trump did to stay in power after the 2020 election was not a big deal, it's almost certain that person was a Trump supporter prior to the election.
Then, that person says that Hillary did the same thing after the 2016 election - trying to normalize Trump's behavior.
I didn't vote for Trump in 2016, but I was hopeful he'd be a good president.
Hillary has been whining about Russian attempts to influence the electorate ever since, and I don't like the way she does that.
Differences I see between H. Clinton in 2016 and Trump in 2020:
1. Hillary conceded she last; Trump has not (47 months later).
2. Hillary (or her surrogates) did not put togther claims of rigged voting machines, boxes of fake ballots, etc.
3. Hillary (or her surrogates) did not attempt to put forth alternative slates of electors pledged to her.
4. Hillary did not put pressure on the sitting vice president who presided over the electoral votes being certified by Congress.
In other words, I don't agree with "Hillary did the same thing." And I'm open to the possibility that I am missing something because of my biases, but what I said above (#1-4) seems factual to me.

Lindsey Graham focusing on what really matters in the midst of natural disasters in the United States......
"..to keep the war over there from coming here."
Looks like the new talking point is out.

Re: 2024 Election
Campaigning in 2021 for the Senate Vance had this to say
But a year earlier in 2020 he said this. If it was trump's presidency that changed his mind I'm curious when that happened since that was in the final year“I did say those critical things and I regret them, and I regret being wrong about the guy,” Vance said at the time, adding that he in fact voted for Trump in 2020. “I think he was a good president, I think he made a lot of good decisions for people, and I think he took a lot of flak.”
If he wants to support Trump or not is up to him, but what I sense is opportunitism which I can't stand“Trump has just so thoroughly failed to deliver on his economic populism, excepting a disjointed China policy,”
"I think Trump will probably lose,”

Dip-shit Harris was on The View this morning.
When asked the question; "would you do anything different than Biden"?
She answered; "NOT A THING"
I hope this helps everyone that is undecided and thinks this economy is a good thing.

One thing regarding the economy I definitely would have done differently? Messaging on inflation when it started. It seems to me that Biden et al. downplayed it and said it would be over soon and less than it was. I think that led to the feeling that it was just getting worse and worse. Not good.Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 6:28 pmDip-shit Harris was on The View this morning.

It seems to me that inflation was not limited to the U.S. So I don't see anyway we can say Biden was responsible for inflation in, say, Great Britain or Germany. It seems to me that inflation, like oil prices, was driven by global economics.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with this administration's record on the economy. Again, I wish inflation hadn't happened and I don't think the Biden administration did very well with its messaging. But I don't buy that it was all Biden's fault, and I aos think the economy right now is in pretty good shape.
Tell me what you believe is bad about the economy?

Re: 2024 Election
Bob Woodward has a book out describing behind the scenes looks at Biden, Trump ect. Thought this was kinda funny. Comments from Lindsey graham of Donald
“Going to Mar-a-Lago is a little bit like going to North Korea,” Graham said. “Everybody stands up and claps every time Trump comes in.
“You’ve got a problem with moderate women,” Graham told Trump after the midterms. “The people that think that the earth is flat and we didn’t go to the moon, you’ve got them. Let that go.”
Some interesting stuff in terms of the Ukraine. Supposedly the WH, based on intelligence warned Volodymyr Zelensky of an imminent invasion but he wouldn't believe it. That Putin came close to using nuclear weapons. Biden swears a lot..Graham repeatedly urged Trump to move on from the 2020 election, telling him if he is reelected, “then January 6 won’t be your obituary.”
“I gave a speech today and I only mentioned the 2020 election twice!” Trump said to Graham a few days later, “as if it had shown maximum restraint,” Woodward writes.
If you did this, all the restraints that we have been operating under in Ukraine would be reconsidered,” Austin said to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, according to Woodward. “This would isolate Russia on the world stage to a degree you Russians cannot fully appreciate.”
“I don’t take kindly to being threatened,” Shoigu responded.
“Mr. Minister,” Austin said, according to Woodward, “I am the leader of the most powerful military in the history of the world. I don’t make threats.”
Two days later, the Russians requested another call. This time, the Russian defense minister dramatically claimed the Ukrainians were planning to use a “dirty bomb” — a false story the US believed the Kremlin was pushing as a pretext to deploy a nuclear weapon.
“We don’t believe you,” Austin said firmly in response, according to Woodward. “We don’t see any indications of this, and the world will see through this.”
“Don’t do it,” he said to Shoigu.
“I understand,” Shoigu replied.

Global economics are connected so nobody that's dependent on the dollar can avoid inflation when more dollars get printed.
Part of why "BRICS" is on track to unseat the US dollar as the reserve currency.
Grok lays it out-
