Was that back in the days when the Raiders all had "stickum" all over them? I loved those days.

As a straight-ahead kicker you have to be super accurate with how precisely your square-tipped shoe makes contact with the ball, but you could impart greater force and hence achieve greater distance on the attempt.

Tackling a strong runner is not an easy thing to do. Sure, we can question why a guy doesn't make a tackle (which is easy to do from the comfort of your sofa), but these runners are skilled at what they do. Even though a person thinks they can tell the difference between shitty tackling and solid running, it's not always possible. I would defer to the expert in Macdonald.

Yeah, its more than just installing a new defense, players have to grasp it and more importantly trust it, trust the guy next to him, understand their responsibily and the guy next to them. Never expected it to be easy.


And the lack of run plays, on one level its clearly wrong but it continues to happen. Wasnt it the complaint with pete?

“There is some (of the QB) getting in and out of runs. But to the extent of how much we’re doing it, (I’ll) just kind of leave that in-house,” the 37-year-old head coach said Monday.

“But it’s also, we all know we need to run the ball more. I mean, everybody knows that. Our opponents know that.

“Our players in our locker room know that. Grubb knows that. Our coaches do. I do.”
