Thought it might speak to what McDonald was alluding to about them being close
"I think in order to be great, it starts with a solid foundation," Macdonald told reporters on Friday morning. "Probably outside the New York game, the effort and the physicality and the intent of how we're playing is there. That's a reason to be optimistic."

No shame in losing to the Lions or SF but my God that Giants game, especially the way it ended, was just disgusting.

That Lions' game felt like a half-a-win.

The Giants' game felt like a trap game and we got caught.

But the fucking gut punch was a weakened SF team at Lumen on TNF in what should have been a statement game, and we wilted.

The 9er game looked like the same game we've been seeing over and over.
If we can't beat the Rams either, this is the same team with the same problems.

What you want is to see improvement, progress. I don't think there's any quit in the team. I'm squinting, trying to see improvement

Seaside Joe thinks choosing between the defense or offensive line as being characterized as the Seahawks worst player group is wrong if it's a function of cost.
It should be obvious where the Seahawks are getting the worst bang for their buck, but it might not be because traditional stats and Grubb’s one-dimensional passing offense might be skewing the perspective of just how awful Seattle’s wide receivers have been this season relative to what they’re being paid.

The right side of the line is hurting the entire offense and needs to be fixed. Hopefully Haynes will be an upgrade at RG and Lucas or Fant will be back soon. The WRs are more of a known quantity and if they are underperforming with respect to their salaries i would suggest that has a lot to do with the new OC and poor pass protection.

What's interesting to me about this list is the Commanders at nine. I believe they were considered to have had the worst O line in the league last season. I'm getting intrigued with Washington. Yeah, they have a great QB but they are also putting a team around him, as well as building an offense for him. Adam Peters is looking to be the bright hire people said he was. Kliff Kingsbury seems on the road to redemption as their offensive coordinator, and I think Quinn is competent, getting the pieces working together. It's what I'd like to see with the Seahawks,

You'll get a kick out of this Drain knowing how patent you are. This writer, who seems reputable says it could take years to fix the defense, what's up with that? I thought we had talent, just needed a modern approach. This is a rebuild now?
.Macdonald isn’t doomed as the Seahawks head coach. Remember, the Ravens had a steep learning curve under Macdonald with far better players. This defensive rebuild is going to take time, possibly multiple seasons. That’s disappointing to realize for Seahawks fans, but it’s way too early in Macdonald’s head coaching career to decide whether he’s a success or failure
The Seahawks had one of the worst defenses in the league a year ago, which is what led to Carroll’s ousting. What’s disappointing for Seattle is that it actually put resources into this defense — and it’s still bad. The Seahawks spent a top-five draft pick on Devon Witherspoon, paid Dre’Mont Jones in free agency, traded for Leonard Williams and have spent other high-value picks on this defense. It still is not any good.

That means the Seahawks are likely going to have to strip pieces from it for the eventual rebuild because what they have going now isn’t working. General manager John Schneider has put this defense in a bit of a hole with some of his personnel decisions and the team as a whole is feeling the ramifications of it.

That opinion brings back memories of the Mariners hiring Dipoto to drag the mariners to the playoffs
