They said he put on 20 lb last off season and it didn't do anything for his power
Just give it time. There's enough power for now and hit is more important at this stage anyway. Next year will be his age-19 season and he'll be pushing for AA. I'd really like to get a report on his bat speed though. One reason I hold on to Harry Ford as a top prospect are some early reports that he had elite-level bat speed. That isn't enough, obviously, but it tells you that there's a tool the player can build on.
Emerson has been amazing in the AFL so far but a tiny sample. Prior to that though his BA was .290 which is very good but I need to see .300+ AND more that 1 HR every 80 PAs before I get excited. You say he has power and maybe he does but he isn't getting the launch angle to hit HRs yet. Not sure if it will suddenly change unless it is at the expense of his BA.

Colt was 2-4 today. Hitting .550 with a 1.400 OPS. Cole Young hasn't played since game 1. Must be hurt.
he hurt his wrist (nothing broken) and probably won't play the rest of the Fall League, so not to push it.

The pitching is famously bad.
Why
Because pitchers that had good seasons don't pitch in the fall/winter. So it's a lot of guys that maybe had injuries or were the 8th guy in the bullpen, lots of project guys, basically.
exactly.

This game supports the AFL pitching sucks theory. Colt was 2-5. Still no bombs...

Emerson is approaching 500 Pro PAs and still only has 6 HRs and he is our number 1 prospect. He isn't small. 6'0" and over 200lbs.

He has 7 singles and 7 doubles in the AFL and is hitting over .400 but only 1 walk and ZERO HRs. There are a dozen guys in that league with at least 2 HRs and one guy has 5.

perhaps he isn't trying to turn on the ball at this point, he isn't trying to hit home runs
. He usually drives the ball from gap to gap but shows the ability to pull the ball with authority. Once he does that more regularly, his bat speed and strength should translate into 20 or more homers per season.
He focuses on driving balls from gap to gap, but he should develop at least 20-homer power as he gets stronger and learns to turn on pitches more regularly.

What exactly is the concern? He has a .900+ ops. I thought ops was the benchmark. He hits the ball hard. You do have to try and hit home runs, I don't think he's trying and failing. He just had four doubles in a AFL game, if that's his MO so be it. Would you be happy to trade him for a bat?

Yes I would. He has been great in 41 PAs in the AFL but in 139 PAs in Everett he hit .225 with a .648 OPS. As GL mentioned the pitching in the AFL isn't great.
