Don’t understand why they didn’t send Haggerty away rather then Chargois
Yep weird. They keep DFAing good relievers and then wonder why the pen isn't good.

WTF! That is a dumb MF move. JT has been a really good BP guy for years, 185 ERA+ last year.

They probably like Chargois him but see him as commodity bullpen pitching, nothing special.

A few years ago didn't the Mariners claim one of their corporate guys as a 40 man roster specialist?

Seems like we've had an endless stream of guys since who underperform immediately for us that they give up on that go on to have success elsewhere.

It is the fact they view Haggerty, a 30 AAA OFer that had 15 ABs as more valuable than a major league reliever that was 85% better than the average pitcher. That is insane. Just like it was insane to dump Tyson over Bazardo and others.

In this case, Miller was lights out in ST and they started him in Tacoma. He was lights out in Tacoma so they promoted him. He was lights out in Seattle so they DFAd him. Just crazy.

Doesn't make much sense.

You were screaming about it when they did it, never made any sense. Had to be a "clubhouse" issue thing. Would love to hear the scoop on that one.

I can't imagine a reliever coming to an org on a minor league invite just hoping to make minimum wage cause problems in the clubhouse but who knows.

Yeah, there's something we don't know and probably never will.
