Forum and fan trades

Post by DavidGee24 » Sat Dec 28, 2024 2:50 am

And still the only forum poster to ever post a trade that actually ended up happening was Leadoff in the old Times Forum when he suggested Carlos Silva for Milton Bradley and it came to pass.

Sorry guys, but I have to cackle every time I see y'all posting trade ideas that the other side would laugh at.

Of course yours have been equally as misinformed as the rest of us mere mortals

I think the group here actually does a decent job with hypothetical trades. The baseball trade values thing has probably helped with that.

Considering that the Mariners have only made the playoffs 1 time in the past 23 years... I take pride knowing that the people who actually do this for living are worse at it than I am.

You literally just eye-rolled someone who was 100% correct with a 0% margin of error. But, what can one expect from the guy who posted this and got roasted by Darren:

Of course they have, because I haven't posted any. Ever. Frankly, there isn't a trade idea that I could think up right now that I think would actually happen.

But I'll try it anyway: D-Mo and Haniger to the Royals for Bobby Witt, Jr. and cash considerations. 😏

You do have a point there. Pretty much all of us would have come up with better ideas that were doable than what we got for Robbie Ray.

A lot of those trades on the trade values app are head-scratchers, especially when you see mid-level prospects involved like the value is in shedding payroll for guys who might never set foot on an MLB ballfield.
