Cal is a gold glove winning catcher that also leads ML catchers in home runs. He doesn't need to hit better, be nice if he did but he doesn't need to
Why is everyone so wrapped up in HRs? I'd rather Cal hit .250, got on base at .360, drove in 110 runs with a slug of .500+, than that he hit .220 with 31 bombs.

hit .250. Add more doubles for all I care. But get on base and drive in runs.
Doesn't really matter - he won't be playing for us in the coming years. Cal's been watching for the past 2 years now at the FO ineptitude at putting together a winning team and he's been vocal about his displeasure. I really wish he'd just come into ST and stick up for the fans with his first interview and say - "I'm so looking forward to missing the playoffs again cause our FO sat on their hands/profits for a 3rd year in row!!!"

Two thumbs up! Cal is here until they get around to trading him to a winning organization so we can get five minor league players.

I think its more likely they'll let him play out his final year then let him walk without offering a Qualifying Offer so we get nothing back for him like they did with Haniger the first time around.

The sentiment towards Dipoto has changed so much.

In the last year or two if you said anything negative about Dipoto on Twitter, you'd get bombarded by the skinnyjean wearing dweebs.

Now, nobody even bothers putting up a fight for him.

Good to see, seems like progress among the soft fanbase.

Yep. We haven't traded a good player for minor leaguers since we traded Cano for JK et al.

Other than the Cano trade, has this team ever traded a major league player for a prospect-centered package? Is there a deadline deal I'm not remembering?

Yes a lot has changed on many levels the past couple years... lol The phrase the tide has turned comes to mind and all the idiots look like idiots.

Yeah its funny that people still think that is a thing. No idea what they are thinking of. Only other one I remember is this one:

Paxton for Sheffield, Dom Thomson Williams and Erik Swanson

Btw just saw that Pax is retiring with 13.6 WAR. Gilbert already has 9.8 WAR Should pass him this season.
