What if Stanton opened up the pocket book one time and we signed Alonso or Bregman plus Jerry buried his ego and ponied up the prospects for Vlad. We would instantly move to top tier. The lineup fits are a little clumsy but I would take my chances. Almost shameful that it’s actually possible

It is but sadly we all know. Alonso could be possible with no $$ hit to the team if they signed him and traded Castillo and we run with a 4 solid starters instead of 5. I'm all for it as 5 #3 starters are better is rarely found and we squandered it when we had it so might as well go more offense.

Guerro will never happen cause he wants 4-500mill contract and we won't do it.

Vlad could be had for 2 prospects.

The M’s could offer him an extension like the Braves did to lock down Olsen, but that’s optional. Trade for him first and then see what management will offer for a long term contract.

With all 3 we would almost become the equivalent of the 1927 Murderers' Row. And have a near lights out pitching staff. Dodgers/Mariners World Series with the Mariners taking it. Give us our long-deserved WS and then sell the team.

Agree - it's a simple recipe.

DFA Haniger. Eat the money for a year.

Go hard for Bregman - make it the one, big signing the M's do - they missed out on lots of big names the last 5 years. Suck it up and go big or go home.

Trade for Vlad. Two prospects. Offer an extension. Olson got 8 years and $168MM.. Do 5 years and $150MM with options.

They can keep Castillo and have a fearsome rotation.
