I think it's less likely he develops into a Biggio kind of player, that was a reach but he still looks to me as a possible Russell Martin type of player. Russell Martin's minor league slash 281/ .391/ .419 ./.810, Harry Ford's 261/ .404/ .419/ .822. I believe they have similar types of tools. That to me seems like a reasonable ceiling which I'd be happy with

Good comp. There is still hope but Martin was a 17th round pick not a 1st rounder.

23 years old, .801 OPS in 318 plate appearances at Tacoma, that's not someone you want to give the first base job to and oh by the way, the Mariner organization isn't exactly gushing about Locklear the way they did Evan White, which should tell us something.

I'm a bit surprised Locklear is getting shit on so badly as the normal discourse... I'll never understand calling a player up... giving him a start, sitting him 3 days in row, pinch hitting him later in a game, then sitting him for 2 more days... it just is no way to evaluate talent.

The guy put up a .933 OPS in fucking Arkansas where Cole Young gets the built in excuse of it being the worst hitter's park in the minors?

His minors splits were also: .888 home OPS/.755 road OPS...

Locklear had a weird season. Great at Ark especially for a RH hitter but then Meh in the hitter's paradise. Vosler put up a .944 OPS for the Rainiers and Locklear only .800. 11 guys had better than an .800 OPS for them.

#2 Jace LaViolette OF, Texas A&M

#5 Seth Hernandez RHP, Corona (CA)

The top 3 have 60 overall grades. I don't like the other two pitchers. But Hernandez is a potential Ace. 6'4" 190# that profile leads me to believe he could add velocity to his 98 MPH peak and the Spike curve, and nasty slider with the extension? If Holliday and LaViolette go off 1-2 this could be my pick.

#7 Aiva Arquette 2B, Oregon State 21 He is 6'4"-6'5" 220# 2B who is super athletic, but he played SS in the Cape Cod league

#8 Xavier Neyens 3B, Mount Vernon (WA) 18 6'4" lefty stud 3B with a 65-power hit tool?
