I do remember the local news reports about the tunnels briefly. It was group of young guys that built it? For what wasn't really explained.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 7:18 am"Being that you live there, do you know anything about the tunnels the Jews were crawling out of after one of their synagogues got raided?

When anyone mentions "tunnels" now automatically I think either drug trafficking or some sex crime stuff or minors. I hope it wasn't the latter.

Re: The Chosen People
Gods redemption of man began immediately after the fall. Out of the pagan world He chose Abraham....Isaac, and from Jacob....Israel. He chose Israel to demonstrate the one true God to the world. All of the Old Testament points to Jesus Christ, the Messiah. At this pivotal point in Redemptive history Non Jews (Gentiles of faith) are grafted into the kingdom and some Jews are converted to Christ. But for rejection, non belief and killing the Son, God placed a curse on Israel. History is replete with evidence of this. Israel is still under it.
The 'end times' began when Christ was born. They will end when he returns. The Covenant with Israel is eternal...this includes the Land. In short they will come through the tribulation and God will save a remnant.....through faith in His Son.

Re: The Chosen People
The part in bold is the problem that people are wrong about, which is exactly why I posted nearly every relevant verse regarding Israel and the old/new covenant in my first post in this thread.Mel Bradford wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:14 pmGods redemption of man began immediately after the fall. Read through the first 10 or 12 verses on my first post and it's obvious they broke the covenant and it is now obsolete and replaced by believers in Christ.

Re: The Chosen People
The Old Covenant (Mosaic) was fulfilled by Christ. The law however remains as a reminder of sin. Salvation has always been by Grace through faith, even under the old Covenant in the old testament.
Obsolete, only in as much as the law could never save one soul. So, yes, obsolete.
So what about Israel ?

Re: The Chosen People
Those are great points Mel, I'll definitely reflect on that, especially the "obsolete" verse being in reference to Mosaic covenant, not Abrahamic.Mel Bradford wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2025 2:15 amThe Old Covenant (Mosaic) was fulfilled by Christ. Could certainly change the land issue. Crazy to think they earn the land for no other reason than being circumcised. Lol.
Historically, when their people became degenerates, they lost control of the land.
Personally, I think that's still a point we're at, but they've gained enough power in allied countries, through greed and self-serving interests, to push their agenda and try and take it by force.
Guess we'll see how it goes.
So, will definitely think on the land entitlement issue.
My other two hangups with them are:
1) they've become a culture of degeneracy whose "religion" is based on the works of the pharisees. Their degeneracy has happened throughout history, and seems to be God's plan for them until Jesus return. Ok.
2) But, as stated in this verse: to me, that doesn't mean people who believe the gospels should act like Jews are infallible or that they're saved by being Jewish and let them try to take land back by force while they're still filled with godlessness. Doing so would be a disservice to them and God if their salvation relies on accepting Jesus as well.
Being a modern follower of Judaism means rejection of Jesus as the Messiah. Otherwise they'd be Christian, not Jewish as far as religion goes.
Thanks for the civil discussion Mel, it's nice when someone knowledgeable about the topic responds instead of just getting told to stop talking about it.
