So who are the pitching prospects to get excited about besides Hancock and Evans, because those two are looking like yesterday's trash.
Ryan Sloan and Jurrangelo Cijntje (had to look up the spelling) are the two main ones among the starters. Maybe Jeter Martinez. I think I read somewhere that his velocity has gone up.

On the reliever side, Brandyn Garcia and Hunter Cranton are two to keep aware of.

Isn't it pretty important to have at least 2 guys in the minors that can fill in in case of injury to a starting pitcher? You can't put someone like Hancock out there and give away games while burning your bullpen arms. He clearly isn't ready.

It's one bad start. I'm not sure what happened, but I trust the Mariners to make the right decision, which could mean swapping out Hancock for Evans or someone else, or going with Hancock again.

They have other pitchers in Tacoma that aren't prospects but could be used for fill-in, Johnathan Diaz? I'm not familiar with the minors like some of the other posters

With the off days they won't need a fifth starter until near the end of the month when Kirby should be back. SS wouldn't have done that though. We will see if Wilson does.

Isn't that a Jerry thing? Wilson probably has the gonads to stand up to him though.

Exactly. Zero reason they can't temporarily go to a 4 man rotation given they would get the same four days of rest. This will let us know who is in charge of such decisions.

I give Hancock one more start, he was serviceable last year, people have bad games.
