Re: Grading the Draft
PFF is fun and can be interesting but I think it's application is narrow, MM obviously is viewing it differently, I'll go with MM. And actually in the stories covering it I haven't read anything negative about Jhonathon Hankins or the signing. He seems to generally be viewed as a productive player
Re: Grading the Draft
When they sign Draymond Jones he had a PFF rating in the low 60s and I couldn't believe that they gave him that much money because of that. Turns out he absolutely sucked and it was was one of the biggest busts of Schneider's career. Maybe they should start looking at PFF

Re: Grading the Draft
PFF thought Dre'Mont Jones was a good signing, maybe PFF should read PFF. Jhonathon Hankins played for MM last season if he needs to go to PFF to understand if he can play that would be troubling

Re: Grading the Draft
AI thinks Hankins is still a good player, that's pretty definitive
I see he's considered athletic, MM supposedly values athleticism in his Dline.Yes, Johnathan Hankins is still considered a good player. The Seattle Seahawks recently re-signed him to a one-year contract, indicating they value his contributions. Despite being 33 years old, Hankins has demonstrated he's still a valuable veteran and a key part of the Seahawks' defensive line.

Re: Grading the Draft
Has it occurred to you that if Hankins was any good he wouldn't have gone unsigned through May 12?

Re: Grading the Draft
There's still players worth signing but at this point teams wait to see how the draft goes, and there's going to be roster cuts with more signings. Hankins is a depth piece, it wasn't a big need but MM likes how he plays and you can never have too many defensive linemen. This is what MM is supposed to be good at, identifying talent and utilizing it effectively. If he feels he has a role for Hankins I'm going to assume he knows what he is doing

I think MM could sit down with you watching tape and explain what it is he likes about Hankins, what he considers good football. You think the guys PFF hire to watch from the stands have a deeper understanding?. “I wouldn’t say it’s a major void, because we have guys that can play in the ‘A’ gap. But, yeah, when you watch tape last year, he played some pretty dang good football for us.”

Re: Grading the Draft
I give Schneider an A grade. He spent his highest value pick on his greatest need without reaching to get him. I think he did a fantastic job with addressing most of the team's current needs in this draft, and found good quality picks deep into the draft.
I think Milroe was a great 3rd pick. Consider that about 25% of every 3rd round pick in Seahawk history was average or better, Milroe has the tools to perhaps become the top Seahawk 3rd round pick ever.
Rylie Mills is a 5th round steal and will find plenty of playing time in the DT rotation.
6th rounder Bryce Cabeldue could win a starting job at guard eventually.
Damien Martinez was a pretty damn good find in the 7th round. Heck of a physical back.
Additionally, Emmanwori and Arroyo are both 2nd round gems.
Not much to dislike in this draft.

Re: Grading the Draft
I tend to agree. I’ve liked the last few drafts, but we didn’t get enough value at interior O Line and QB. That changed this year.Cascade Kid wrote: ↑Sat May 17, 2025 11:39 amI give Schneider an A grade. He spent his highest value pick on his greatest need without reaching to get him. Yeah, Rylie Mills is an interesting deal, I think I posted the article on the heated debate, table banging in the war room over drafting him. and JS trading up to do it. Lots of interesting stories to follow. Milroe should make things interesting. I don't mean QB controversies but how they use him. Looking forward to seeing him in the preseason. Be disappointing if he isn't given a role in the offense next season.

Re: Grading the Draft
How do you all envision them using Milroe? If you bring him in just to run the ball defenses will key on him and dare him to throw it, which might not be a good thing. I'd rather they only bring him in as a garbage time QB and try to run a normal offense.
