I have a hunch that Garver and Solano are being played more often because Mgmt. is close to a decision on these fools.

I doubt it's got anything more to do than just another LHP on the bump. That's their role -- bat vs lefties. You don't need to cut Garver to add Ford. I mean, yes, ultimately his PAs will go down with Ford coming in to be the everyday DH and backup C, but you're least contributing parts/deserving 26-man job players are Solano and Mastrobuoni. With Raley a few weeks away, he's another 1b/of option that covers what Solano and Mastro give you.

To me, first two gone are Solano, Mastro. Then Rivas and Tellez.

This lineup will look really good with Ford, Young, Robles and Raley in and Solano, Mastro, Rivas and Tellez gone

Garver is hitting worse against lefties this year.

But hey, I'm glad he tagged a hanging slider off what is probably the worst lefty they'll face this year.

Garver is not a good hitter.

Good hitters don't hit .180 over the course of 500 plate appearances.

He's up to .235/.660 ops this season while playing 1x a week essentially. He's delivered pretty well in RISP situations too. He's maybe not "good" as in above avg, but he's more than capable and in my book, avg. I don't mind giving Garver starts.

I do mind giving Solano, Tellez and Mastrofuckingbuoni starts

His OPS is boosted by a singular home run off of a position player.

Remove that homer and he now has 2x extra base hits in nearly 100 plate appearances. A slugging % about 50 points shy of .300.

That is not playable.

Have you noticed that 2 of the best pitcher's names start with "Sk"? Skubal and Skenes.

Skastillo pitched a good 1st inning and got out of a minor jam.
I'm looking forward to the next few games with Skevans, Skirby, Skhancock and Skwoo hurling for the M's.
