The Senate trial is going to be all in his favor so not sure why he would want to distract from hit. btw has anyone forgotten about impeachment because this.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 6:22 pmThe distraction part is very plausible and probably even likely. Makes a great headline for the voters. It's what presidents do. Could be wrong though, the guy seemed to have it coming.
As for WWIII, oh man LOL. How far out can Iran even reach? They can barely even get over the Iraqi border. And who's on their side? Pretty much nobody with any clout. Guess I'd better start training so when the Marine Corps brings me back up I can man a machine gun nest on Santa Monica Pier.

This latest escalation involved crossing the Presidents red line...Don’t harm Americans or else. I didn't know an American had been killed - that makes sense now. I turned off the news a long time ago, so I miss most of this shit. It also means I miss all the hysteria, 'outrage' and non stop scare tactics the news dumps on everyone. I stay far away from all that. Thanks for the intel.

I didn't know an American had been killed. Why are you getting information from CNN? That's like going to a heroin dealer to get advice on how to beat heroin addiction.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 6:44 pmActually..........auroraave wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 6:01 pmI'd like to know why we decided to do this now. Remember when we 'took out' Bin Laden and then rejoiced? Did anyone seriously sleep better knowing Bin :Laden was dead? How about this Iranian General? This smells like the exact same thing.
There are entities that have been trying to draw us into another Middle East (re: unwinnable unless you are in the defense-contract business) mess because of a manufactured 'threat' that does not really exist and has no real substance behind it. Remember the 'bombs' in the Straight of Hormuz a few months ago? A laughably blatant attempt to draw the US in, and Trump said no fucking way. The three things I have respected about Trump's Administration is the emphasis on America first, a strong economy, and no manufactured military escalations. I don't believe he is a guy that wants to go to war, he's about talk and bluster, not guns. I want to know what has changed, who is in his ear coercing this situation. Is he morphing into a politician like all the rest who will bend to the will of the deep state? I'd be very disappointed. There is no need to stir up shit in the Middle East. None. This is the definition of insanity. Who stands to gain? Boeing? Raytheon? McDonnell Douglas? Certainly not the American public. Are they funding his reelection campaign? This just does not make sense tactically. There is no threat from the Middle East, except the ones that we have been manufacturing for decades now.

Because that's the nature of people in power and the people who advise them, and nope, even though we do get easily distracted by the next social event.

Breaking News:
Mainstream news outlets profit from war. Trump's attack is like a present with a huge red bow on it. It drives traffic to their websites/stations and they love it. CNN is not a progressive news outlet, they are a money driven news outlet. FOX News is exactly the same, they just realize the best way to make money is to preach lunacy to an ignorant base.
The dreaded "failing" New York Times is a prime example. It's always hilarious to me that a bunch of toothless hicks shout FAKE NEWS ! at the NYT whenever they present a different viewpoint, yet in reality they are on the same team as CNN, MSNBC and FOX. But you know, Trump needed a "reputable" scapegoat to help convince dumb people that the media is totally against them.
The NYT was a huge proponent of the war on Iraq and wrote multiple articles supporting the notion that they had weapons of mass destruction. A claim that was never true... their articles helped sway the American people in supporting a totally useless war. A few of their new articles on Iran may present counter points, but they're doing what they want them to do... drive traffic by talking about WARRRR. Trump knows this... and it's defintely a nice distraction because #1: it gets some Americans riled up and promotes racist tendencies against people in the Middle East making them always seem like the villain #2 it distracts again from all the dumb shit he says and does on a daily basis... why do you think he lies so much? It's because the American people can't keep up, it's why impeachment isn't on the minds of most Americans... because Trump has led an amazing campaign against education, by promoting a constant flow of bullshit. Bravo to him, great strategy, it works.
And worse? He's just a puppet in all of this. He probably didn't even know who this general was in the grand scheme of things... certainly can't pronounce the guys name. He's just a puppet in the hands of war hawks who profit off this.

Re: Soleimani Killed.....About Damn Time
Here is some background for why we should hate the banks who fund the never ending battle between us and Iran.
We can debate the right and wrong about our meddling in the ME, the Middle Eastern right of self defense, retaliation...etc...but it's these "Western World" banks who knowingly channeled billions of dollars to Iran that are responsible for the losses we suffered most recently in Iraq.
Osen LLC (together with Turner & Associates, P.A.) represents more than 300 families of Americans who were victims of Iranian-supported terrorism in Iraq between 2004 and 2011. In fact, more than 1,000 U.S. service members were killed or injured by Lebanese Hezbollah-designed and Iranian-manufactured Explosively Formed Penetrators (EFPs) and Improvised Rocket-Assisted Munitions (IRAMs).
The case, captioned Freeman v. HSBC, was filed in federal district court in Brooklyn, New York on Veteran’s Day of 2014. The Complaint alleges that HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Barclays, Commerzbank, Credit Suisse and RBS N.V. conspired with Iran and Iranian banks, including Bank Saderat Iran’s wholly-owned UK subsidiary, Bank Saderat Plc, resulting in the transfer of: (1) billions of U.S. dollars through the United States in a manner designed to circumvent U.S. regulators’ and law enforcement agencies’ ability to detect and monitor the transactions; and (2) hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (“IRGC-QF”), Hezbollah (a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization), and other terrorist organizations operating in Iraq.
On July 27, 2018, Magistrate Judge Cheryl L. Pollak issued a Report & Recommendation recommending that the Defendants’ motions to dismiss be denied in their entirety. Judge Pollak noted that the Second Circuit’s February 2018 decision in Linde v. Arab Bank, Plc “did not hold that banks could never be held primarily liable for providing material support. Rather, the court made it clear that this was a question of fact, and the jury needed to be instructed on and proof of each separate element of § 2331(1).” Judge Pollak also noted that Linde confirmed that by enacting the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), “Congress has now clearly provided for both conspiracy and aiding and abetting principles to provide a basis for imposing secondary liability upon those who provide material support to terrorists.”
Judge Pollak also noted, “each of the terrorist entities that is alleged to have injured plaintiffs is a part of the conspiracy, as are the Moving defendants who funded these entities….The… Complaint contains over 1,000 paragraphs alleging that various terrorist organizations, whose activities were funded through illegal transfers facilitated by the defendant banks, committed overt acts of terrorism resulting in significant injury and in many instances death to the plaintiffs.”
Defendants’ objected to Magistrate Judge Pollak’s Report & Recommendation and on September 16, 2019, Judge Pamela K. Chen rejected the Report & Recommendation and dismissed all claims against all defendants.
Judge Chen is guess what..? A cowardly Liberal AFFIRMATIVE ACTION Judge appointed by Obama to a seat that requires a level of courage and resolve she is evidently not equipped to render
The Freeman case is now on appeal to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals

Re: Soleimani Killed.....About Damn Time
Honestly, I thought Trump was all about getting our asses out of being entangled in the Middle East. So here we go again, what is it about the Middle East and Presidents. You guys can complain all you want about terrorists, but the west has spent the last 1,000 years going to the middle east to bring a war. And how many of those wars have they won? hmmmm. Sure, this one is gonna be different, easy peezy, just a few well directed missiles will cripple the Iranian economy, wasn't that what Bush told us about Iraq, no casualties. Yea, this is a guaranteed win, Trump feels lucky, lol.
Endlessly mired in foreign adventures in the Middle East, I thought Trump would be the one guy to avoid that, but i guess not. But hey, you guys are eating it up. The Republicans have decided to step up to the plate the last 20 years or so, after the Democrats, Brits, Russians, pretty much everybody else in the world failed to impose their will on the region, so lets go for it. Not like a 1,000 years of failure should mean anything. And no, its not about the beaches in California, its called asymmetric warfare. Iran isn't going to attack us directly, its not that simple, wish it was. But its going to be ramped up, and then Trump will ramp things up in retaliation, on and on, we are never going to leave the Middle East to the people that live there, and we are never going to win their hearts and minds by killing them...
Or on the other hand, it could mean the end of American influence in Iraq and Iran assuming control there, which is what they are after, spread their influence around the region. We shall see. Sorry but I do not have a lot of confidence in Trump as the deep thinker when it comes to the today's "Great Game".
And what does Trump do, tweet threat threats, lol...
