In looking at these players individually:

Garver - at least has value as a backup catcher (he even hits like one). The question is if Ford can at least play as well as Garver at the MLB level and can we get him enough playing time? I don't think he can right now and we probably should stick with Garver.

Solano - this is a case of management ego and not wanting to admit they blew it. The guy's had what, two or three outstanding weeks to make his stat line at least exceed that of a fire hydrant and that's it. He doesn't give us anything on the field or on the basepaths. I don't think we have anyone at Tacoma worth taking his spot on the roster but it doesn't matter since he'll be gone once Raley and/or Robles get back.

Moore - he's scared to death out there and might not recover this season. That fly ball he dropped in right field a few days ago out of fear, and that at-bat yesterday where he took two half-assed swings and then looked at that off-speed pitch that he seemed to make up his mind that he was taking no matter what. Samad Taylor needs to take his place and that's it.
Garver - Had a passed ball yesterday that almost cost us the game.

Solano - Couldn't even be trusted to get a bunt down so that PH Young for him TO GET A BUNT DOWN. That meant they had to put Moore in to play 1B who is even a worse hitter than Solano.

Moore - With one out and a runner on third in a walk off opp he watches a hanging breaking ball middle middle for strike 3.

Good Lord. Rivas can play short and isn’t an automatic out. Garver is like watching paint dry. Ford has to be an upgrade. Taylor gives us some flexibility. We have to stop giving away outs and put the ball in play more often

The issue with Ford is he would be a rookie handling an entirely new pitching staff in the heart of a playoff race. That isn't going to happen imo.

Garver isn't that big of a problem. They could have traded for another backup catcher but that ship has sailed. It's Moore and Legumina that need to be gone and replaced from within. Not so sure about Solano.

With Raley and Naylor out, the only options for 1B are Solano, Moore and Packard. Not good..

I totally forgot about Rivas and he's playing really well at Tacoma so bring him up as probably Solano's replacement. Even if he reverts back to what he was earlier this season it's still an improvement.

Agreed. I would like to think Cal could mentor him. I just can’t stand what appears to be Garver’s lackadaisical approach approach. Probably not fair. How about sneaking Bing into his locker 😅

Put Polanco at first for a few days while Naylor gets massages.

Garver is ass. DFA that fucker already. Ford has to be better than Garver's .194 BA right now.

For God's sake Solano and Moore are shitty "utility players". What are we talking about?

Samaad's got this.

September 1 is right around the corner? Rosters can expand then. They may wait to bring up the cavalry.

He doesn't play first but he is massively better than DMo
