This is not a playoff worthy team
All leadership is out the window. Scott was not the problem or at least Dan was not the solution either.
This team needs a hott headed firing of a manager and Sadly Dan or Scott dont bring that. I think Buhner could be that guy. Just really need a hard nosed wont take shitty play without getting at his team. Dan is like alright it happens enjoy day off. We are home so we can try a Lil harder. Those kinda managers will never win!!!

The Mariners have been schooled. Seriously schooled. They have to sit in the hallway wearing dunce caps. No cap and gowns for them.
Mariners couldent even lace these guys laces. Pure powerhouse vs Mickey Mouses Play house. Just not playing the game like they want it. Screw all this talk this road trip showed tiredness no fight and just wanting to give up. Absolutely lifeless Roadtrip after a very solid home stretch!!!

Mariners just set a horrible record. Philly got 45 more strikeouts pitching then batting. Only like 15 strikeouts batting all series.

Look at it this way so as to not lose your mind
Thx to that homestand they are 11-8 in the last 19 game stretch.
They play just over .500 ball the last 35 games and they'll make the playoffs.
Then it's a crap shoot.
Look at Texas. They got hot at the right time and won a World Series.
Lets hope the players step up because the talent is there.
They played a REAL true and tested club in the Phillies and Failed fantastically.

Geno and Julio seem to be waking up a bit. Others need to follow suit

It's not, and again...I suspect the standing will reflect that very soon. Amazing how quickly the bottom fell out. We make the moves we thought would set us straight, win ten out of eleven games, and then turn into a pumpkin. Only the Mariners. I knew it was too good to be true. It's well past time for me to stop paying attention again. I sure hope I have a more enjoyable fall with the Huskies and Seahawks, but I am starting to believe that it doesn't matter who I root for, they are going to be mediocre to shitty!
I'm going to be even more hated here, but after this season I'm switching loyalties to the Blue Jays since I'm moving to Ontario. At least that franchise cares

Unfortunately the media attention he got during the All-star break for leading the league in HRs appears to have fucked him up in the head because all he seems interested in since then is hitting more of them at the expense of being patient at the plate and taking what's given. Really disappointed in him but not surprised. Putting together a complete season for any Seattle athlete seems like more than the fans can ask for anymore.

I wish we as a fan base didn't have every reason to agree with that statement, but we do. We have reason after reason to think that way. For every magical moment? Seahawks win the Super Bowl? The next year they lose one in what is probably the worst way possible. They never recover and have never really been a legitimate Super Bowl contender since. This is after the Refs take one from us years prior and the sporting world tells us to just get over it!?

2001 Mariner? Well, we dump the series to the Yankees and then get two and a half decades of misery!

The Huskies seem to be back? We lose to Darnold and the Condoms, then finish strong only to get exposed by a more physical Bama team. They seem to be back again? Struggle up front against Michigan, have some calls go against us, not only lose the NC game in what turns out to be blowout fashion, but the next year the only starters to return are the Kicker and Punter.

For every moment of glory? We get many MANY more moments of the Sports Gods looking at us and laughing with their middle fingers extended.

I left the Sonics out of this list of misery because, well.....you know?

Imagine being a Bama football fan? I can't, that kind of success makes literally no sense to me.
Imagine being a Patriot fan during the Brady and Belichek era? Again, that does not compute for me.
Duke basketball back in the day? No way, that doesn't even remotely make sense to me. What did they have, like twenty straight Sweet 16s?

Baseball? Don't make me laugh. We have made two ALCS's in our existence and put up little to no fight in both of them. It seemed we were on the verge, like we would build on that? Nope, that's not what this organization does. Build off the good will from 1995? Nope, trade Tino to save a buck.

What fan base has gone through this? The Browns suck, but the Indians and Cavs have given that city enough. Oakland? I counter with Golden State Warriors. Am I missing a fan base that has been kicked in the fucking balls as much as we have?

Feeling cursed might possibly be the worst feeling in the world. Especially after trying so hard to be a good person.

It does feel like any time one of our teams has some success it all blows up very soon afterwards in the most painful way imaginable. How about the Huskies winning the NT in '91 and the next season some of the jealous California college presidents vote to fuck over the UW football program because Don James didn't know his QB accepted a sweetheart car loan offer.
And how long was it after the '96 NBA finals that Kemp was shipped off (don't remember why) and replaced with the human jellyfish Vin Baker? That was after they had shit themselves against the Nuggets in Round one and got fucked by the NBA against the Suns in the WCF but the Sonics of the early/mid 90s could have easily been to 3 Finals and once they get there it all falls apart with some horrible trades etc.
And there was the early success of UW bball under Romar with the B Roy and J Brock teams followed by about 8 years of mind-numbing streetball by 5 star recruits who then became 1st round or even lottery picks in the draft. But that was more of a slow torture than anything else.
