This is entirely anecdotal, but I spoke to one of my cousins in Vancouver about a week ago and she said people are generally avoiding crossing the border unless they really need to. There's a lot of resentment against the tariffs and some nervousness about harassment from border agents. People still go, just not as much.

But I do think there's a difference between threatening strikes on Iran versus 'buying a country'.

I was on a work trip in Europe immediately before Bush ("W") invaded Iraq. I remember a couple of Europeans (acting like they were speaking for most Europeans) saying that invading Iraq was a crazy idea. But that Bush was just crazy enough to actually do it.

Fast forward 20+ years. Bombing Iran was a crazy idea, no? But President Trump is crazy enough he did it. It he crazy enough to "annex" Greenland? Or Canada?
