Tue 26th - Vedder Cup Winners Celebration Party GT.

* sarcasm alert klaxxon

YES! I am sure those of you in the WA area were out all night partying - the much coveted Vedder Cup is coming home now we have an unassailable 4-0 lead in the 6 game schedule against the Padres. And again, keeping Garver in the line-up was total genius from Dan. Don't be influenced by the box score of 0-2 - we all know that the two walks were the highlight of the night for people who were there to remember the most. Lifetime memories I'm sure.

2nd: Garver safe at first on fielding error by third baseman Machado.
4th: Garver walked, Naylor to second.
5th: Garver walked, Naylor to second, Suárez to third.
7th: Garver flied out to left.

I am hearing that ticket touts are now selling tickets in the region of $15,000 each for Wednesday's trophy presentation game and plans are in place for an open-top bus parade through the streets and avenues of King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties.

Garver looks like he has earned a well deserved rest for Tuesday, if the expected line up is correct - he can't continue this high level of performance. No matter how much you all want him in the line up, lets trust in Dan. He wouldn't be the manager if he didn't know what he is doing.

Go Ms

I'm totally worried about the celebration hangover. Maybe Wilson will just play the scrubs today like when you clinch playoff position in the NFL. :D

I'm getting my Mariner gear together for the 54% celebration even though it's likely we don't make the Playoffs! If we do, we'll lose in the first round anyway. Makes no difference. The owners will make money.

Nice lineup tonight. Mr Suspension looming needs to hit more so I like Canzone better right now.

Meanwhile Moore signed a minors deal with Texas.

As irritating and under-achieving Dipoto's 54% thing is, it does seem to be exactly what you need to make the playoffs (as a wildcard). I guess the best he's willing to try for is squeaking in and hoping the team just magically catches fire against better teams.

I thought he was saying the good franchises win 54%. You don't win every year. Some seasons 50%, some seasons 60%. But, if you can maintain 54% you are one of the best teams. Similarly, if you are at 46% you suck. I don't know the word for it. It's not parity. It's just that in this sport it takes long durations of time for the exit velos and the babips to average out. That's why it's also so true that in this sport more than any other the WC teams really have a chance to win the whole thing if they just get hot for a couple of weeks.
