No Ford still.

There's nothing that will convince me that rolling out this same basic lineup every day is a good thing. It's not like the comfort and predictability of having the same lineup is leading to better results than they were getting back when they occasionally mixed things up.

It's a great lineup if these guys hit the way they're supposed to hit. If we had these nine guys for the entire course of the season, with Suarez batting .250 and hitting over 40 dingers and Naylor hitting close to .300 with 20-30 dingers, the other seven guys maintaining pace on what they were doing, even with our pitching that's a 95-win team. On paper opponents would be uh oh, we're in trouble today. They've just got so many guys going cold right now and doing the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Polanco only needs 16 plate appearances to hit his vesting option.

Hopefully they can pencil him in as starting 2B and get a better bat at DH. And 3B.
He's going to be a free agent. He's not going to take that salaries at a pretty good year. I was wrong about him this year.

I havent really seen how his vesting option is structured, other than that it vests at 450pa. He can decline it?

It's only 8 million and he has 1.6 WAR. At 450 it becomes a player option which means he can exercise it but he won't he can get more than 8 million given he's going to finish with about two War. Less than 450 it's a mutual option which means the Mariners can opt out but that's going to be moot as you point out

Drayer says Lou stopped by the clubhouse for the team meeting.

I mean I love Lou, but if he needs to be brought in to make these morons care... there's an issue.

FIRE DAN. This is inexcusable. Rivas hits and now sits. No Ford either.

One of the funniest things for me as a Mariner fan was how Dave Sims would break down the out of town scores like the Mariners were just inches away from the post season when in reality they were 4 games out with 5 games to play and needed to pass 3 teams to make it in.
