They also have a week now to prepare a defensive game plan that doesn't hinge on a rookie safety holding the opposing team's best weapon in check.

Huh? 13 points is tied for 24th. This is the bottom of the league in scoring. Elite company!DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 6:24 pm
Another way to look at it as that while there were a lot of other teams that came into the regular season very unprepared and played sloppy football (and again, 13 points is 12th in the league), the Whiners came in as one of the better-prepared teams in the league despite the injuries and we just happened to be their unfortunate opponent. And I'll concede that this means they're better coached.
24 New Orleans
24 Detroit
24 New England
24 Seattle 13.0
28 Tennessee 12.0
29 Carolina 10.0
30 Houston 9.0
31 Miami 8.0
32 NY Giants 6.0
You aren't reading a word I type, so forget it. But, do yourself a favor. Look at the NFL team stats. Everyone has played one game. Check out Time of Possession, 3rd down conversion and Total Yards, and look at the very small number of teams below us, and realize? That's not very good.
Add in the fact that the guy that just got shit canned for being inept? Had one single game in his entire NFL OC career similar to the one we just witnessed out of Kubiak. Grubb scored fewer than 13 two times in his 17 games calling plays. And he was a loser that was over his head. But Kubiak just needs more time. Why? Because John and the local yes men media told you guys he was gonna be great. Zero evidence to support, but the Wizard of Seattle didn't want you looking behind the curtain.

5 teams scored less than us. No idea what David is looking at.

Seemed to me Grubb had a different QB. For better or worse, JS dumped DK, Geno and Grubb. Now we get to see what Kubiak can do with what he's been given. The Grubb train has left the station. Go ahead and bang that drum but I'm not seeing the point. They have taken the team in an entirely new direction at this point.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:02 pmHuh? 13 points is tied for 24th. This is the bottom of the league in scoring. In other news Smith sets a raider franchise record for most yardage in a debut
Re: Postmortem - Hawks v Chardonnay Nation
DK had flaws. But he was something the other team had to game plan for. He required the other team's best corner. He frequently got the safety shadow. Last year there was a stat that at some point the hawks averaged 27 points with DK and about 1/2 that without him. They did not get a Parson's package for him. And look, about 1/2 the points! Great move!Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:21 pmSeemed to me Grubb had a different QB. For better or worse, JS dumped DK, Geno and Grubb. My point is everyone in here bought in that Grubb had to guy, and blindly listened when we were force fed how great Kubiak is. I find it hilarious that all the excuses are flying for Kubiak. Not enough practice, preseason, blah fucking blah. He has a better O Line and did exactly what MM wants. Yet no one gives a shit that THIS team can't play THAT offense. The fucking point I made all summer. Again, Grubb should have given MM his way, if only because we would have won 7 games instead of 10 and gotten higher draft picks!Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:21 pm

I just find the hypocrisy hilarious in this place. If Geno played like Darnold did? The pitchforks would be out. If Grubb or Bevell had called the bullshit offense that Kubiak just did? Even more pitchforks. But now? It's all patience and wait and see. It was a stupid hire, it was a bunch of bullshit we were fed about how great he is, and I have no problems pointing it out. THAT is my point.
Yes Grubb is gone, yes Grubb was in over his head. But? What does that make the horseshit we just watched? Run game specialist, all he needed was a few coaches and the same players as last year. But now? Mr MM calls out his players. Were was he when the front was getting bitch slapped like a hooker all last year?

Which makes what JSN did on the last drive even more incredible. SF is fucking stupid. I'd have put three guys on JSN. Who the fuck else was gonna make a play?Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:38 pm

But in fact Grubb did have to go not because he was a good or bad OC but because that's the direction MM decided to go. I don't see the point of taking it further than that. These is no second guessing about it, he might as well have been hit by a bus.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:39 pmMy point is everyone in here bought in that Grubb had to guy, and blindly listened when we were force fed how great Kubiak is. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. All I am saying is MM needed Grubb to go because Grubb wouldn't run the damn ball. I have said numerous times, this team CAN'T run the damn ball. Guys like you and many others shoved all this shit in my face about blocking schemes and schematics and play calling flow, and how great Kubiak was at it. Well? How great did it look when we played MM's style of football last Sunday, in a fucking divisional game at home that was flat out handed to us by the 49ers, and we took it, gift wrapped it, and handed it right fucking back. Zero effort to put away a wounded animal, then played desperation football with a turnover prone QB. That worked, right?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:46 pm

THIS is what MM wanted, and what you all accepted as what has to be. Kubiak and his merry band of overpaid run game nerds were the answer. I think they answered the wrong Question. That was fucking gross.
