still kinda lost me, you mean position players? Kurtz would have been the more highly regarded by a considerable amount wouldn't he? You wouldn't have had an opportunity to have traded Young for Kurtz I don't believe. Rating is a function of talent and closeness to the ML. Who did the mariners have that they might have been tempted to trade him for. The last thing i am is familiar with the farm, I am not getting where Cole Young was that highly rated to begin with. He was like 34th when he was called up? Emerson is like 11th now isn't he?Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 7:03 pmYou would need to look at their scouting profiles at various stages pre-draft and through the minors in order to compare them. I was just wondering if anyone was familiar with that so that i wouldn't need to look it up later. I chose Cole Young since he is the highest-rated prospect to join the team since Julio.

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
You have five months of ML experience now, I don't see where a hot August or a cold September has anything to do with it in the first place. Like i said, I am warming to the idea of using him next season. That has absolutely nothing to do with if he hits .400 for a month in the minors or .200.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 8:37 pmThe difference is that SSS is more in line with the rest of his career and more indicative of what he is vs. his hot August. Emerson's .967 OPS the past 10 days isn't even close to what he has been to date.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 5:04 pmyou love your sss as much as the next guy lol..."He has turned back into a pumpkin in Sept going .208/.629 I wouldn't be surprised if the run him out there OD next season touting his PCL stats. Such dopes."

He has had a noodle bat his entire pro career other than a hot August in the hitter's paradise that is the PCL. I would prefer and established MLB Bat at 3B on OD 2026Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 11:05 pmYou have five months of ML experience now, I don't see where a hot August or a cold September has anything to do with it in the first place. Yeah, I know, I am putting his noodle bat there for his league average war which i believe would be pretty much iron clad, saving the $30 mil spent hoping Gino doesn't crater and use it elsewhereD-train wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 11:11 pmHe has had a noodle bat his entire pro career other than a hot August in the hitter's paradise that is the PCL. DT, did you use your admin powers to edit my post directly instead of replying?GL_Storm wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 1:26 amEmerson is doing okay, but hardly dominating the level. I really hope the plan is to keep him in AA for all of 2026.
Agree. Solid for sure given his age but I am still waiting for a performance indicative of a #1 prospect in a #3 system. He hasn't been close to that....yet.

Yes, I make that mistake every now and then. Usually I catch it but obviously didn't last time. Sorry to put words in your mouth. lolGL_Storm wrote: ↑Thu Sep 11, 2025 12:47 amDT, did you use your admin powers to edit my post directly instead of replying?GL_Storm wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 1:26 amEmerson is doing okay, but hardly dominating the level. It is actually a decent idea for a poverty franchise but they pretend we are a poverty franchise so I guess your point still applies.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 11:34 pmYeah, I know, I am putting his noodle bat there for his league average war which i believe would be pretty much iron clad, saving the $30 mil spent hoping Gino doesn't crater and use it elsewhereD-train wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 11:11 pmHe has had a noodle bat his entire pro career other than a hot August in the hitter's paradise that is the PCL. It's probably how they could afford to go after Naylor, even teams that aren't so poverty driven need to find ways to save money. You could spend more and end up with less WAR. Or use him someplace else. Replacing Moore could make sense but then you have both corner infielders to replace. Honestly, williamson and naylor at the corners, your outfield is already deep enough. Really just leaves 2nd base. Bring Polanco back and play him there part time, rivas? And this is before an actual blockbuster type move from Dipoto. Maybe you dip into your pitching and add another bat. There are possibilities for fielding a pretty decent team.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Sep 11, 2025 1:39 amIt is actually a decent idea for a poverty franchise but they pretend we are a poverty franchise so I guess your point still applies.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 11:34 pmYeah, I know, I am putting his noodle bat there for his league average war which i believe would be pretty much iron clad, saving the $30 mil spent hoping Gino doesn't crater and use it elsewhere
