I am not so down on this loss. Missing the two best players in the secondary while playing the number 6 passing offense in the league. You gotta expect to give up a ton of yards. All that being said if your Kicker doesn't miss a relatively easy kick you probably win the game. Or if you decide to leave your third string QB on the sidelines instead of having him come in to run the option you probably win the game.

I still can't believe they flushed a third round pick for that. Everyone knew he was never going to be a Franchise QB.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 8:59 pmI am not so down on this loss. but they didn't know it and they still don't know it, nothing has changed. A stupid gadget play doesn't mean anything. The thing is this is what he is, nothing has been uncovered about him since he was drafted. He has issues throwing a ball accurately and hanging on to them. He's never going to be a franchise qb? Well not long ago that was the opinion of both Darnald and Mayfield, and that was after seasons of trying.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 12:02 amI still can't believe they flushed a third round pick for that. I think an even more interesting question is why was Darnald's value so low even after a successful season playing for the Vikings? This is who he is now? Well what is the difference from last season? Has Kubiak uncovered something that even the Vikings didn't? Isn't it seem kind of unbelievable that going into the season many thought Smith could be the superior QB. If everybody is so bad rating a pair of QBs with long histories of NFL experience what are the chances of rating a kid like Milroe that hasn't even played yet?
and that's the thing, we seemed to have hit the lottery with Darnald though why i really don't understand, but if Darnald was leading the league in interceptions the way Smith is our attitude towards Milroe's future would be different. Its a good thing Milroe seems extraneous at this point, and he can be traded if it continues to be that way.

here is MM defending the Milroe play. I really have no idea what the point of it was exactly. MM claims its part of their entire offensive package and they are intent on using the entire package. That its them being aggressive and not conservative with their offense, he isn't going to play scared. He says they have more plays for him and they like them, they seem intent on trying to use him. That the offense is working well and that is because they are running the entire package, that they are going to stay aggressive at doing that. That would probably be his response to the 2nd and long call

This site which I don't know anything about other than its analytics and its only using this season as a reference has Darnald ranked 4th in the league.

so they targeted Pritchett when he replaced woolen in the second half. You have to be able to go to your depth and maintain the quality of the defenseAri Meirov

The #Bucs–#Seahawks game on Sunday was the first in NFL history where both QBs threw for 325+ yards and completed 80% or more of their passes.
• Baker Mayfield: 29/33 (87.9%) for 379 yds
• Sam Darnold: 28/34 (82.4%) for 341 yds
The former #1 & #3 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Macdonald had no update Monday morning on the status of cornerback Riq Woolen. He left the Bucs game in the second half with a concussion.
Nehemiah Pritchett replaced Woolen. Mayfield and the Buccaneers targeted Pritchett on his second play, Emeka Egbuka’s touchdown past him in the third quarter. They went at Pritchett again in the end zone on Mayfield’s scramble and throw to Sterling Shepard that tied the game at 35 with 1:08 left Sunday.

I pray he's lying through his teeth. I'm not sure another team would even pluck him off the practice squad.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 8:08 amhere is MM defending the Milroe play. They were listed with 10 missed tackles, via PFF, about on par with its average for the season. The Seahawks have 53 in five games.
PFF has the Seahawks rated as the seventh-worst tackling team in the NFL.
Those listed with the most are safety Coby Bryant (seven), linebacker Ernest Jones IV (six) and linebacker Tyrice Knight and Woolen (five each).
Jones had the most Sunday with two en route to getting a team-worst defensive grade from PFF of 28.2 while eight other players had one each.
“Our tackling right now is not our standard,” Macdonald said Monday during his radio show on Seattle Sports 710. “It’s not good enough. We work it every day, (but) the dots are not getting connected right now, so that’s something that we are evaluating as we speak. We have to address it because it must be better. There’s way too many hidden yardage out there where it’s putting us in more defensive positions and guys are getting leaky yards on us. So it needs to improve.”

And yet they wasted an entire four quarters of the last pre-season game having him run plays he'll never run. I simply don't get it. Time for the Milroe experiment to be tabled until the off season. But expecting any coach to actually admit that they did something incredibly stupid and probably cost the the game is asking a lot. Of course they THOUGHT Milroe was a valuable part of the game plan, or they wouldn't do it. They thought wrong, but no chance they are going to say that.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 8:08 amhere is MM defending the Milroe play. I really have no idea what the point of it was exactly. The craziest thing is they didn't even need him to run that play. Sam could have done it and tossed a decent pitch.

Another troubling aspect with this team are the turnovers. They turn the ball over a lot. You can characterize MM as a defensive minded coach but that runs counter to it. Pete was obsessive about not turning the ball over. It's plays like that that put you in harms way. In that sense MM is being aggressive. Of all the ways to look at that loss, don't turn the ball over and you probably win the game.
