Woo's injury minorly helped because who pitched in his place was Miller and he threw the ball well so there would have been no change in the outcome if he had been available.

The problem with Gilbert and Kirby is they are getting to the point where we need to offer them 4-5 year contract extensions - are they worth it? After what we saw this postseason - i'm not so sure as I once was.
Agreed, can't keep everybody long term.

The best way to maximize the organizational longevity is to trade guys like Castillo, and Arozarena this year, and Gilbert, Kirby in the next couple years, and turn them into some top shiny prospects/young major leaguers.

Then, get their replacements in free agency or trade from depth, and your system is stuffed with talent.

Raley/Robles replaces Arozarena and saves $11M+ if Arozarena can bring a good trade piece in return. I'd pull the trigger and put the money towards a need.

Woo/Miller pretty much already replace Castillo pretty seamlessly, imo, with the depth we have in the minors also. I don't think we should be the team to count on him in 2026. If a good return was there, I'd trade him too.

Otherwise you're just running out their playing time and letting them walk in the end and your organization is just down a player.
3 guys on my target list.

1. Skubal - obviously

2. Steven Kwan - ultimate contact machine

3. Luis Arraez

Yes your not gonna be able to keep all 4 young guys especially with Kade & Sloan waiting in the wings. Somebody's gotta go unfortunately. I'd deal Randy tomorrow along with Canzone & Castillo. Can't tell me there's not a 3rd baseman with a better contact or hard hit rate. Everyone of these dudes is available. Again Skubal is not gonna re-sign with Detroit you can go ahead & book that right now. Cleveland needs so much I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved. Just need a couple high contact guys that can get on for Julio & Cal & Naylor.

You want both Kwan and Arraez? Heck, Williamson makes contact. We could have Williamson and Arraez at the corners, Kwan in left field, small ball paradise!

While I would love a guy like Maikel Garcia, don't know the odds of him being moved. I mean if were not gonna bring back good vibes & not target another bat I think he's probably your best option. Dudes definitely gotta put in some work in the offseason. The more contact the better. Kwan for sure. Definitely want his bat in the leadoff spot. I thought about Arraez for 3rd but he played this past year at 2nd for Pads & managed not to commit a single error so yeah I'd definitely take him. Your not breaking the bank for any of these guys. If your biggest offseason signing in Naylor consider yourself lucky. Between those 3, sign me up in a heartbeat.

I like Arraez a lot if he'd get on a treadmill and get into 2B shape. As a 1B or DH he's like Jose Vidro. Alive, but worse than most other options.

Skubal would be the crown jewel if you could trade from depth you'd never miss, like Harry Ford when your catcher just hit 60 homeruns and didnt allow a passed ball until October..

I havent gone through everyone's numbers yet, but Moncada hit very good in his limited playing time. Worth keeping an eye on him imo.
