Re: Huskies vs. The Ducks Game thread
It just is what it is. Oregon has much better talent at this point. Demond looked like the 19 year old that he is out there today. As much as I hate Oregon, I am not really bothered as much by what happened today as I was against Michigan and Wisconsin. Big picture I think Fisch has done a decent job to get them back to being an 8 win team in year 2 considering only had a handful of returning players when he got here.
Re: Huskies vs. The Ducks Game thread
Not a good game for Demond, really good game for Mohammed and believe it or not, i thought the OL held up pretty well against a very formidable DL.
The D also played well, particularly against the run. that is undoubtedly the biggest improvement from Fisch year 1 to year 2 is getting more depth, size and athleticism in the defensive front interior. And that hyphenated freshmen safety is a beast coming up against the outside check downs! The 8-4 unranked finish may be just poor enough to keep Jedd here another year instead of getting poached. If that happens then Demond stays, and then even if Boston leaves for the draft you should be improving again in year 3.

Couldn’t agree more with the two posts above. I’m hopeful for the future. Much more so now than after Wisconsin. Fisch might be the man for the job after all. Now let’s see if he stays.

At this point I don't think he gets offered a job attractive enough for him to leave. Right now the only one open that I think he would take is Penn State and I'd say there is zero chance they go after Fisch.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 4:15 pmCouldn’t agree more with the two posts above. I actually kind of thought the same thing after I posted this. LSU and Florida are no longer options. I kind of forgot about Penn State, but I agree with you that he doesn't really seem like a fit there.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 4:35 pmAt this point I don't think he gets offered a job attractive enough for him to leave. Why does he have a reputation for jumping ship and going from HC job to HC job????? He has done it a grand total of ONE time. From Arizona who was leaving the P12 to UW who would joining the B10. 100% of coaches would do that.

Re: Huskies vs. The Ducks Game thread
He said he was staying at Arizona, and then didn't. Not huge news, but there is that. I think it was more the notion that his family didn't want to be here. THAT has been a real issue here of late, right? I know there are some beautiful parts of Seattle, but there are some absolute shit hole areas as well. Money can be an issue as well, and I don't just mean his salary. This State, and Seattle in particular. We went to Heritage Distillery in Roslyn this weekend while we were in Suncadia to visit family. They are closing down. It isn't pretty out there in this State.
The first two reasons, and most likely the most damaging ones, are all based on how much it costs to do business and live in this State, and Seattle is the worst. Seattle didn't help themselves either, electing a middle aged barista that lives at home to be there mayor. I don't see these issues going away anytime soon. If you can live easier on less money somewhere else? Sorry, not trying to make this political, and I probably just created a shit storm, but he wouldn't be the first person the UW has lost on in the athletic department because they just didn't want to be here. Hell, didn't we lose an AD to Nebraska for crying out loud?Heritage Distilling is shutting down its Washington tasting rooms due to a combination of factors, including rising operating costs like wages and taxes, a challenging tax and regulatory environment, and changing consumer preferences that have led to an overall downturn in alcohol sales. The company is making a strategic shift to a more "asset-light" business model to reduce expenses and focus on other areas like direct-to-consumer sales and wholesale.
Rising costs: Increasing wages and taxes in Washington state have made it more difficult to operate profitably.
Challenging regulations: The company cites regulatory burdens as a factor making reinvestment less feasible.
Changing consumer behavior: There has been a general shift in consumer habits, including reduced alcohol consumption and a move toward alternative products like marijuana.
Strategic transition: The closures are part of a larger plan to reduce expenses by over $5 million annually and focus on higher-margin areas like online sales and wholesale distribution.

He can live on the east side. 100 times better than living in Gainesville.

I lived commuted from Kirkland to Downtown Seattle for 15 years. 20 minute drive.
He is making enough to live on one of the Points SE east of Kirkland. It is basically the same as living in East Wenatchee and working where I live.
Only you drive over a lake rather than a river.
