100000% It is with great pleasure I watch the god-awful NBA crumble. I may be the only Jeep in LA still rocking Seattle Sonics license plate frames - and I get comments all the time. Funny how they keep teasing Seattle getting a team back - as if that is a good thing - because I could not care less. NBA is long dead to me. Not only would I not watch, the real comedy in all of it would be watching Seattle find a way to fuck it up and not call them the Sonics. They would 100000% fuck it up somehow because - well, it's Seattle. It'll be some left wing nonsense about the environment or a fucking starfish or a macchiato or or some insanely stupid shit no fan wants. The city of Seattle own the name, colors, logo, ect for the supersonics, part of the settlement with Bennett. I think they plan to use them if given the chance.

I guess the sale of the Celtics was the final item to get done before expansion.

The Supersonics is a name that makes you think of planes going too fast, using fossil fuels, and emitting tons of icky carbon.

However, the left is not without heart, so they will have another name that is rich in former Sonic lore.

The new name will be the Seattle Starbucks and will play in Climate Pledge Arena so the carbon footprint is zero.

They talk about it, and then not talk about it, etc. It's at least a few years away.

I don't get it, 32 teams would be ideal, they'd come up huge in Seattle, probably likewise in Vegas, and they just won't do it. Probably just as well, if they expanded Vegas would probably be in the playoffs every season while the Nupersonics (as in new, get it?) end up being cellar-dwellars.

That's a very good question, and the best comparison would be the Cleveland Browns.
