Here is an article on what the Dbacks are getting offered for Marte. It is basically saying they want multiple MLB starting pitchers as a starting point. If you want to put together a deal, you could go Miller and Evans as a starting point and then add other pieces.

Why aren't we looking at Bliss if were going internal might as well as some speed in there. I'll take the defense with BWill. All's he's gotta do is put the ball in play & not strikeout.
He'll have a shot in spring to show what he can do.

lol I'm not sure why people are so quick to jettison Miller - he was the only pitcher that showed up in the playoffs. Besides, due to upcoming salary demands - if any were to be traded it would be one of Castillo/Gilbert/Kirby. They aren't paying both Gilbert/Kirby 20-30mill per year - thanks bluejackasses....One of them should be traded this year for an elite bat while the value is at its highest... not when it's at its lowest like they did with Ford.

That's exactly what he did last season and he had a .600 OPS which was why he was rightly demoted. A 3B needs to have at least 15-20 HR power and take a walk more than once a week.

$20-$30M a year? lol Dylan Cease had a 4.55 ERA and put up 1.1 bWAR this season and got $30M a year for SEVEN seasons. Both Gilbert and Kirby would be insane not to wait for FA.

Well - they could buy out the last 2 years or whatever of Kirby's arb years at say 4/80 at somewhat of a discount - hard to turn that down and bank on health for the next few years if you were him.

It has a bit of a non-specific tone to it. I mean is it Marte for the two SPs or is there additional parts moving one way or the other. And, is there big money moving back to help out with Marte’s salary when he is 36-37 years old? Without knowing the rest it is hard to gauge the value.

If we knew that Cade or JC were ready I'd say move on Marte or somebody. Again were not gonna be able to sign all our guys. I'm still in the Donovan + Joshua Baez deal. Somethings gotta give. Teams don't have to deal their guys if they don't get an offer they like. I get it. I'd be fielding calls on everybody at this point. Arizona's gotta through some money our way in order for that deal to happen. The longer these deals take the better it favors Seattle.

Why would the Cardinals trade away four years of a 25-year-old hitter who has posted a career wRC+ of 129 while earning the league minimum salary?
