If we knew that Cade or JC were ready I'd say move on Marte or somebody. Again were not gonna be able to sign all our guys. I'm still in the Donovan + Joshua Baez deal. Somethings gotta give. Teams don't have to deal their guys if they don't get an offer they like. I get it. I'd be fielding calls on everybody at this point. Arizona's gotta through some money our way in order for that deal to happen. The longer these deals take the better it favors Seattle.
Check out Ivan Herrera too.
Why would the Cardinals trade away four years of a 25-year-old hitter who has posted a career wRC+ of 129 while earning the league minimum salary?
Because he is basically a DH and they need Pitching more that hitting. Why did the Yankees trade the great Jesus Montero after he had a .996 OPS at age 21 with 6 years of control?

Still want Baez with Donovan DT. Don't think they'd be willing to throw in Herrera too.

That would be a blockbuster. Would need to send them Kirby + prospects.

M's sign Murakami - 5 years, $80M

Trade for Donovan and JoJo Romero- Jurrangelo, Arroyo, Evans

Turns out that info about Murakami was some bullshit. He had a 830ish OPS on pitches over 93+ and over 95+ in '25. Murakami gives you some insurance at 3B if Williamson doesn't work out.

1. Donovan 2B
2. Cal C
3. Julio CF
4. Naylor 1B
5. Murakami DH
6. Randy LF
7. Canzone/Robles RF
8. Williamson 3B
9. Crawford SS

Bench: Young IF, Canzone/Robles OF, Knizer C, Rivas IF/OF

1. Woo
2. Gilbert
3. Kirby
4. Castillo
5. Miller

CL: Munoz
HL: Brash, Romero, Spierer, Ferrer, Bazardo
LL: Vargas, Taylor

I would do it but they would have to lift the ban on Japanese players. Do we need a 3rd lefty?

Dexterity doesn't bother me. The guy is dominant.

Just a .642 OPS vs righties in '25.

Many accounts reporting it's between SEA and SF for Donovan.

Hard to be believe SF could beat any prospect pkg we were to send over.

They have a bottom-10 farm and their best minor league pitcher is their no. 6 overall who is is a former top 100 prospect that bombed to a mid 5's ERA in '24 and struggled in his cup of coffee this year in the majors. They could include Landon Roup in the trade who is a young, controlled starter that was decent last year... but they have absolutely no pitching depth... only 3 established starters as it sits with Roup in the fold.
